August 11, 201114 yr Hi Guys, I seem to be having a problem with VoxATC NOT displaying its panel in the NGX. I have run the Indexer and panel utility in VoxATC,but when running the panel utility, I select all, that checks the "737 NGX" check box, and then click install, and a small box appears saying"Initalizing - Please Wait", and the green progress bar shoots to the the right, as if to say it is done, but this window just sits there saying"Initalizing - Please Wait". I have left it for 10 mins or more, but still nothing happens, it seems the panel utiliy crashes when it tries to installits panel in NGX. Have not any problems with all default A/C, and it will install in "iFly-737" without trouble. Don't know if it is a VoxAtc problem,or a PMDG problem. Any help would be appreciated, before I contact both devs about this. Thanks for looking, JCC.
August 11, 201114 yr I have read that PDMG accidentally installed a lot of files with only read only access. You may have to make the relevant files writeable. Which files I don't know, search or ask in the 737NGX forunRegards Helge Helge Rasmussen
August 11, 201114 yr Go to yopur panel.cfg for whatever variant you're using, and right click and go to properties. Then uncheck read only. This will allow VOX to amend your panel.
August 11, 201114 yr did this help you Thanks Guys for all your help. JCC.did this help you out?if not I have a workaround that I worked with.let me know if you need it Joel Strikovsky
August 12, 201114 yr Author Thanks Akila, yes it did work, just un-tick the read only file box and the panel now shows. Cheers, JCC.
August 12, 201114 yr I see,I had to add the VoxATC lined in the panel.cfg file manually.not a big deal, but worked for me. Joel Strikovsky
August 13, 201114 yr I couldn't get the panel installer to work with the 737NGX even with all files writeable, the aircraft does not show up in the list of aircrafts that I can install VoxATC in. So I tried to copy the lines manually to the E:\FSim\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800NGX\panel\panel.cfg(All other 737 panels seem to link to this one) I inserted the following lines : ////<VoxATCWindow21=VoxATCWindow22=VoxATC Recent Comms////>VoxATC after the last windowXX= line (the last was window20)and I inserted ////<VoxATC[Window21]visible=1position=4size_mm=400,200pixel_size = 400, 200background_color=0,0,0ident=14077zorder=5alpha_blend=0.65gauge00=VAGauge!VoxATCPrompt,0,0////>VoxATC ////<VoxATC[Window22]visible=0position=5size_mm=400,600pixel_size = 400, 600background_color=255,255,255ident=14078zorder=5gauge00=VAInfo!VoxATCInfo,0,0,400,600////>VoxATC after the last [Window..] section, this was [Window20]. After doing this, I can chose VoXATC in the menu, but when I press Enable I get the following error after all the voice testing: "Startup failed, unknown FS aircraft typePMDG 737-800NGX PDMG House Winglets" The Err.log contains: Log Start 08/13/2011 22:28:46 Aircraft exception Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at com.intworkings.voxatc.PilotState.CheckForAircraftAhead() at com.intworkings.voxatc.PSTaxiing.Navigate() at com.intworkings.voxatc.Pilot.Run() at com.intworkings.voxatc.AIAircraft.Run() at com.intworkings.voxatc.AircraftWorker.Run()Aircraft exception Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at com.intworkings.voxatc.PilotState.CheckForAircraftAhead() at com.intworkings.voxatc.PSTaxiing.Navigate() at com.intworkings.voxatc.Pilot.Run() at com.intworkings.voxatc.AIAircraft.Run() at com.intworkings.voxatc.AircraftWorker.Run() Any idea what I am doing wrong? August 13, 201114 yr that is strange, it worked for me when I added those.here are my lines ////<VoxATCWindow21=VoxATCWindow22=VoxATC Recent Comms////>VoxATC ////<VoxATC[Window21]visible=1position=4size_mm=400,200pixel_size = 400, 200background_color=0,0,0ident=14077zorder=5alpha_blend=0.65gauge00=VAGauge!VoxATCPrompt,0,0////>VoxATC ////<VoxATC[Window22]visible=0position=5size_mm=400,600pixel_size = 400, 600background_color=255,255,255ident=14078zorder=5gauge00=VAInfo!VoxATCInfo,0,0,400,600////>VoxATC try coping and past my lines. had you tried removing the read only from the file (panel.cfg) and using the "VoxATC Panel Setup"?when I tested that method it also worked. Joel Strikovsky
August 14, 201114 yr I ended up reinstalling the 737 and VoxATC and now it works. Maybe it was the hotfix that did it. Helge Rasmussen
August 15, 201114 yr The Hot fix does reset the VoxATC settings.after applying the Hot Fix it will reset the panel.cfg , hence VoxATC settings are removed. Joel Strikovsky
August 26, 201114 yr I was having the same problems with my aircraft from Delta Virtual Airlines. I didn't think to check to see if the files were read only. I'll check that after work and come back here and yet you know if it worked for me too. I have a MD88-90, ERJ200-900, and an EMB120 that wouldn't work with the indexer either. It had hung up on me in the same manner as the OP. I love flying casually in a Cessna 172 to explore, plus I love to tie it all in with creative stories.
