August 27, 201114 yr FWIW: I'm getting the same deal here. 45FPS with VOR lines off, 29FPS with VOR lines ON.
August 27, 201114 yr You can try with FMC FIX page, input some random fix nearby, then add in a radial or 2. It will drop fps much like the VOR tuning. Adding the distance circle doesnt have this effect btw. MarcusJian
August 27, 201114 yr Same here. With VOR course lines on, my FPS drop from 38 to 28. Strange, but at least I know now whats the reason and how to avoid this. Regards Christian Stoff
August 27, 201114 yr same here Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.
August 27, 201114 yr It must be something about having to draw many more data on the displays. I have this problem as well but if I put on other data such as waypoints, airports, get it to show "EXCESS DATA" and my frames will be pretty low as well as tuning a VOR.
September 1, 201114 yr Today I had also the same problem.I have wondering why the FPS are so low, than I turned off VOR course lines, and the FPS going up from 20 to 38! (38 is locked) And it's not only the FPS, the flight was very very smoother without VOR course lines. Katja Mueller / LOWK Austria

September 7, 201114 yr If I understood it right it is necessary to set both NAV radio to ------- in order to avoid the loose of FPS and to turn them on just when landing, I assume this way being obliged, when landing, to suffer from a heavy loss of FPS. Is that correct ? I hope the SP1 will take a deep care about that, FPS in my opinion are the most critical aspect of NGX.
September 7, 201114 yr ... I assume this way being obliged, when landing, to suffer from a heavy loss of FPS....Well, you could always eyeball the landing, you dont actually _need_ to land using instruments. Johan Pettersen
