Expiration of FSMeteo v5.1 and your opinion

Featured Replies

It's the old `Is the glass half full - or half empty?` argument. Equally, can you unequivocally say that the `volte face` was not the result of the furore kicked up in this and other forums? I don't think so.You may read into the actions whatever you like, but we can also read into it whatever we like. MP has been notoriously proficient at utilising the media and press in the past, yet this time curiously incompetent. Funny that?It is a pity that your first post in this forum is merely to chastise members, perhaps you could take some of your own medecine?Allcott

FSMeteo 6.4 is a excellent product. There are no flashing screens stutterting updates, hurricane wind gust or brick wall cloudy weather that has plagued weather addons in the past and currently. It functions flawlessly. I highly reccommend it.RegardsDennis Waggoner

>can you unequivocally say that the `volte>face` was not the result of the furore kicked up in>this and other forums? No, I can't. But the other forum I read this on needed far less 'explosives': http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?...ghlight=fsmeteoMy point is, this could have been solved without all the bad stuff. Every 'suspect' has the right to be heard and this was denied...>It is a pity that your first post in this forum is merely to>chastise members, perhaps you could take some of your own>medecine? Please read again then, my post is to defend MP and question negativism. If I were after members there would be plenty of quotes to make, but I do not want that.I drank a whole bottle of medicine before posting, I'm new to this forum but not to the powers of email and likes :-)Thx,Erik

I do not own a current version of FSMeteo, as I abandoned the program & the programmer long long ago. When Meteo first came out, I purchased it. & for a while I received email's with files in them for every update that was put out. Then, suddenly a year goes by & not a single email.I did not care, as I was happy, but then friends had a different version than I, and I began to wonder. SO I sent an email to Mr. Philbert, and received a reply, including a file & an appology for being left out of several updates. Well, the next update comes around, and no email again. I send another email & get the same reply as before, including a file.Well, finally at about the same time as Activesky was setting up for release, I sent a final email to Mr. Philbert about why my name had been removed from the list, etc etc... I never received a reply. Now, I have the purchase confirmation email still! YES, STILL! I keep them all! and I am still not receiving emails, nor update notifications, etc. that I should as a product owner (though that may have changed now). I don't care anymore. I am using a far better product, and not having the hassle I had with FSMeteo's owner.

Many of you may not know or forgot, that the weather servers that FSMeteo and now ActiveSky 2004 are private wx servers. When you use the prgram to update weather the servers log all the traffic IP's, dommains and other data from the requester. This of course is to do the return data path and to do traffic monitoring. There is a utility on those server that also compares legal and illlegal users.Marc just wrote me a note and told me that he has over 200 FSMeteo users that are not legal copies of the program on a very regular basis. When you develop a program for the community and then watch how many pople love using pirated copies, it makes you very upset. Not saying that anyone who has been screaming on this tread are part of that pirated list, however Marc and I discussed today some names that he sure does not have on his legal copies list.Eric, please forward Marc a copy of information and he will be more than happy to get you updated and restored on his list.Marc, just like all of you has been a LONG time MSFS user and developer. I known him for years and it does make me very sad to see how fast, some in this community will yell and scream when somehting goes just a little wrong. It makes me very sad also.Bob Johnson

I only can second that! I'm highly satisfied with FSMeteo. I subscribed for the 5.? version and automatically received avery update since then. I wish other software developers had the same excellent customer service.Wolfgang

It seems that everyone has had their say on this issue. For those of you that were a little upset that I let this thread continue, here are my reasons:1) I can't lock threads early, because I will be accuesed of being too pro-commercial developer.2) This thread did not IMHO descend into strictly a flame fest, otherwise I would be forced to lock.3) As is usually the case, the issue has seemed to resolve itself out.If anyone has any questions or comments about my handling of this issue, as always please feel free to email or PM me.In conclusion, I am now locking the thread.
