August 27, 201114 yr There is a reason that the lower eicas graphics are not centered (to the screen) in the real aircraft and that is because they are deliberately offset and placed precicely inline vertically with the engine graphics on the upper eicas. This is done for scan flow smoothness. So it is infact an important factor on the real aircraft even if it may appear a minor graphics oversight on the NGX.Its also very possible that this was infact picked up by one of the beta team but may not have been actioned for many reasons such as work load and deadline time constraints you just never know its all a balence and compromise particulally close to release not everything can get fixed even if its known about. vic

Actually i dont think it matters what real life version of the NG it would be the graphics were always inline deliberately including the actual one the NGX was based on vic
August 27, 201114 yr I think PMDG has more important issues to fix until they start moving displays a 1/1000 of an inch. AJ Pongress

August 27, 201114 yr engine graphics were centered. PMDG had their reasons Hmmmm............i guess ill just have to look a bit harder for some photos of those centered graphics because i cant for the life of me seem to find any such thing. probably because it does not exist. Im not entirely sure how you might know PMDG had thair reasons for deliberately doing that unless you are part of the dev/b tester team or connected with the company in some way. i seem to recall you previously said that you wernt. vic

August 27, 201114 yr like i said before , things do get missed even by top addon developers i know im a beta tester myself. sometimes even known issues are beyond the resources /time limitations to put right. Its all about prioritizing and compromize. vic
August 27, 201114 yr Vic, you are completely right about this. Best bet is to submit a ticket though, as people around here love to tear anyone who dares to question the all mighty PMDG, a new one. i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson
August 27, 201114 yr Clum yes thats true, and usually those that are not qualified to do so really. im actually not the one that bought this up im not bothered or interested questioning them or submitting a tickiet or getting it fixed because i know exactly how things work from the otherside being a beta tester, im just making a point here about the facts of the real aircraft in response to other statements boldly claimed as fact earlier in this thread. EDIT: and also because i dont even own a copy of the NGX And weather fixed or not its a real shame that people might feel too intimidated in this forum by a small handfull of" unqualified self appointed forum police" who think its their role to tear in to anyone that they may happen to disagree with. And particulally in this case where it is actually a valid point/query innoccently made by the origional poster. The alignment of the graphics on upper and lower eicas are actually true to life and a thought out part of the NG MIP's design stratergy by Boeing. designed that way for the pilots deliberately. its no accident because naturally it would be bang in the middle otherwise. vic

August 27, 201114 yr engine graphics were centered. PMDG had their reasons (1) HOW DO YOU KNOW ?? Are you part of PMDG ? You appear have taken on the role of their spokesperson. ? (2) NOBODY was saying any of this HAS to be fixed. People were just making observations, and pointing out interesting differences, some of which, it would seem, are significant in the real world. Makes a welcome change to the constant stream of nagging and pointless posts, about when SP1 will be released . {sigh} Guys and girls,There is a lot of agressivity in this thread. The OP asks a very relevant question and most of what he gets is scorn and laughs. Please stay civilized if you wish to continue getting access to this forum. +1
August 27, 201114 yr I recall the engine shutdown handles being offset from the engine gauges below,in the P3 Orion when I worked on them,It caused inadvertent wrong engine shutdowns a few times.NATOPS training required P1,P2 and the flight engineer to all verify the correct engine to be shut down. So I can see Boeing being careful about EICAS design. August 27, 201114 yr yes this is precisely the reasoning logic behind the graphics offset and why its actually a valid observation. This philosophy probably not such an issue for a twin engine jet as it would be for a 4 engine aircraft due to the extra clutter to the eye but none the less it all helps. vic

Thanks a lot for your answer ! People on this forum seem completely frustrated and agressive. I am just asking why, not saying "you have to change it", and if you look on the topic title, it is written :"No offence to PMDG team".That's so crazy the way people are reacting here !!! Anyway thanks to the few people for explanations about this little "issue". Cheers.
