Hello everyone! I just signed up here hoping to find some answers for my new pc... I have searched for 1 day all over the internet for possible builds and i am pretty confused from all the opinions and stuff i came across! Anyway, the build i have in mind its something like this: CPU: Core i7 2600K Sandy Bridge @ 3.4 GHz or my other idea was an Intel® Core™ i7-920 Processor @ 2.66 Ghz which is less expensive so...PSU: Nitrox 600WRAM: 4GB DDR3 1333MHZGPU: Nvidia GTX 460 or the Nvidia GTX 560 Ti ( i know that FSX needs more CPU than GPU so i would go for the 460....what you think?)Monitor: LG 19''HDD: 500GB Sata 3 Well as far as i remember this is what i have in mind! My budget is limited to 750$-800$ max and i dont know if the prize of the hardware above will be around my budget......i really dont know if the information that i wrote is enough but i would really appreciate an advice! 1- Will this setup allow me to play FSX with the most famous add ons(REX, Skai traffic 2.3, PMDG, Wilco, Aerosoft etc.) at around 30 fps or will it be around at 10 fps (as my old pc did) ? 2- Is there a way to be at around 750$ or even less with the hardware above or something similar to it? Any ideas, advices are welcome. Thanks everyone for their time!Happy landings

Save yourself $100 and get the i5-2500K. FSX wont use the extra features of the 2600K. I'd get the 560Ti, and use the $100 to get a better PSU, like the Corsair TX750 V2. You'll need to get a decent cooler to OC. A good, cheap one is the coolermaster Hyper 212. A good air flow case is recommended. I recommend the Coolermaster HAF 912

I think we should pin a thread saying, ":don't spend the money on an i7 2600k, the 2500k is just as good."

Fantastic little case. Could not add more to what was said.

Wow! Thanks a lot for your responses everybody. Well, i will get the i5 2500k then for sure. My question is will i be able to OC this specific CPU past 4 Ghz without problems? I mean will it be safe and stable past the 4 Ghz? Thanks again for your time reading this and for your replies! really appreciate

Easy. Requires very little effort to get past 4GHz. I have mine at 4.8GHz and many get theirs to 5GHz. All I did to get to 4GHz was disable Turbo Boost and manually set voltage to 1.285.

But don't think that because others are getting 4.8-5GHz, you will. Set 4.5 as your initial target then work from there

Good point. Just check your batch number. Quite often some people have done testing with a specific batch and can tell you about what yours would be able to do.

Nice. I will do that as soon as i get it and i will let you know here. Anyway i will be happy even with a 4 Ghz ! Dont plan for the overkill...just above average :)

You will have a hard time just stopping. I said I would not go past 4.5GHz, went to 4.8GHz. Just my experience.

After 2 days of searching and taking in consideration your advices i finally made up my mind and ordered CPU: Intel i5 2500k @ 3.3 GhzGPU: GTX 560 Ti 1GB DDR5Motherboard: Asus P67PSU: Corsair TX750W V2RAM: Kingston 6GB 1600MhzHDD: WD 1TB 7200 rpm 64MBMonitor: 19'' LGCooler: ...dont remember exactly :PCase: Xpredator Evil BlackAnyway total price 900$

The ram isn't quite correct. You want a 8GB dual channel set. 4x2GB or 2x4GB 1600MHz. Just call in and ask to get it exchanged

The advices you got are very good. Just one note to add : The i-2500 does not have Hyperthreading, while the i-2600 doesFor FSX this has no meaning , but perhaps MS Flight or the Flightsimulator from AS will use it..... In addition to the numerous graphic upgrades, multiple processing upgrades are rumored to be included in Flight, including support for 64-bit operating systems and larger amounts of RAM. It is not known at this point whether Flight will be capable of utilizing Intel's Hyper-threading technology, although Microsoft has stated that they have taken the performance issues of FSX into account during development and will optimize the new simulator to run on newer computer technologies
