January 11, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi, Very nice aircraft.I did a test:At Tribhuvan Intl, day, clear weatherAll fs2004 to full except shadows and mesh to 85 %, 1024x768 32 btis, 2x AA, 4x Anasotropy, no shadows at all. January 11, 200422 yr Amazing aircraft! One of the best freeware airplanes available for FS2004 without a doubt !Go get it !Twister
January 11, 200422 yr Yes! Thats a great plane for flying slooooow! And with a great panel and VC.A big Thank You to the Author!!!Cheers,Michael
January 11, 200422 yr Chris,I tried the line into the cfg file but it made no difference to my setup. (P4 2.8GHz NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600). Mind you, I get 18-26 fps normally in 1280x1024x32. Probably being a bit greedy to try for more! Going slightly off subject here the Morane is fantastic.KFD
January 11, 200422 yr There is an error in the panel.cfg.The lines:[Window00]file=fiesepanel.bmp file_1024=morapanel.bmp size_mm=1024the top line File=fiesepanel.bmp needs to be made into a comment. by placing semicolons in front of it. as thus:[Window00];;file=fiesepanel.bmp file_1024=morapanel.bmp size_mm=1024There is no bmp in that aircraft named fiesepanel.bmp.That should make it smoother...Joe W.
January 11, 200422 yr What a beautiful aircraft- looks and sounds just like the real thing. The cockpit interior is first class also- great attention to detail. To Chris Willis - I have same GPU as you- I tried adding "panelastexture=0" to the fs9.cfg As far as I can tell it make no difference at at all. With the fps lock set at max I get average about 30-45 fps with ocassional peaks up to as high as 63-65.I really couldn't see any improvement or loss after adding the line .K7S5A/AMDXP2000/512mbDDRAM/GFORCE4 TI 4200 128mb 4X/FS9 at 1024/768/32.Shadows on.all settings at approx 75%/Very High.Still- it's always worth trying new suggestions out.My thanks to Guy Hulin for this lovely aircraft. Dave
January 11, 200422 yr I agree this is a lovely airplane, but why does it dig its wheels into the runway as it picks up speed? Or do I have something set wrong?? Bert
January 11, 200422 yr Wow this is a excellent plane! Been playing with it for a while now, and I have not found an airport where this plane cannot land or take off on! Every runway is a piece of cake with the 505. Its quickly becoming my new favorite plane.I must agree, so far, this plane is one of the very top freeware planes around :). It has to be, considering I already put 3 hours on it right after I got it :-lol.
January 11, 200422 yr >I agree this is a lovely airplane, but why does it dig its>wheels into the runway as it picks up speed? Or do I have>something set wrong??I noticed the same.Jozef http://www.dse.nl/~joker32/pictures/signature.jpg
January 12, 200422 yr I got a reply from the author... edited for readability, it says:"As regards the landing gear and the wheels which sink into the ground, regrettably I was not able to find good settings which avoid thisproblem. I had to retune (?) the very soft suspension to feign the complete sinking of shock absorbers at the stop. I nevertheless dedicated a lot of time to it, but in vain".So, I guess, the best thing is to stop worrying about the wheels and focus on the flying instead! Bert
