MCP Speed Bug - V2+20 caused...

And after all, we should expect this bird to behave as per the manuals, so I suspect any such discussion is valid.
I Think your over doing it a tad. This is not the REAL WORLD, it is a Sim! Considering how far they have pushed this thing already given the limitations of FSX is amazing. But it is never going to be perfect and everything is not always going to behave according to the Boeing Manuals. I am sure they will try their best to get it as close as possible. Might want to try lowering your expectations a notch or two and spend more time flying. Stop worrying and nitpicking whether or not the plane is Boeing Manual Certified. If you want perfection get a Commercial Pilots License and fly for a real airline. That is the only way to get perfection and have everything work according to the Boeing Manuals.

Thanks for your input Paul!

Given the limitations of FSX the NGX is never going to perfectly model everything perfectly that you see in the Boeing Manuals.
In parts I actually agree with you on that one. But still, we are talking about things that could be modelled (I suppose). This is not the WXR discussion here. I know this is indeed a bit "over the top", but it's been shipped with real manuals for a reason and it's been advertised to behave like they describe it. After all it's just one other detail. Just one. One like the tens of thousands of other details this fine simulation has. If they modelled the other (way more complex parts) of VNAV and the AFDS, they sure could've done this. Again, assuming I'm not misunderstanding the system logic of course. Waiting.gif
If you want perfection, get a commercial pilots license and fly the 737NG for real.
That's the plan, but won't cure the issues of the NGX. LMAO.gifsig.gif

- If you click the MCP speed window up one click, it causes the window and the bug to jump to V2+20 and then up normally from there. It is not possible to have the MCP and bug showing two different values - this was main error before. It does NOT cause the FD bar to command a higher airspeed you might dial in past V2+20 though as long as TO/GA is still the active mode. You MUST engage another mode first before it will do this. LVL CHG or VNAV are what are allowed in most airline SOPs - you'd never use V/S because it doesn't protect airspeed. (VNAV won't allow you to select speed unless you use SPD INTV obviously - it blanks the MCP speed window and climbs at the FMC calculated ECON speed)
Ryan, I just re-read this thread. I don't think your advisers gave you correct into, or correct info in all cases. You can accelerate just by selecting a new speed (at least that's how the planes I fly are configured). In fact, that's our standard T/O profile.

Even though it dosen't contribute to solving the problem at hand, I just wanna give you (Etienne) som tailwind... I think that these "in-depth" questions is what the NGX is all about, and to be honest, I think the devs kinda likes these questions... Obviously they don't like a bug, but I remember that Ryan in a post pre-release described, how he had cross checked everylight bulb in the NGX with real boieng specs, to see if they were indeed powered by the correct BUS and so on... Everytime guys like Etienne asks questions and discover things on that deep level, it's actually a tribute to the work the devs have made... Even the fact that we are discussing this level of systems operations, just shows how complicated the NGX is.. I bet you wouldn't find such a question at, say Wilco or CaptainSim (no bashing intended - different product for different customers)... So Etienne - keep saluting the devs with these inqueries - in fact, we all learn some new stuff by reading about this... Mas
