Airtran

Featured Replies

If anyone is interested I know Airtran is not going to last much longer, but I would love to see a repaint on this on the 737ngx! I have tried using the repaint kit and I SUCK! So if anyone of you pro-repainters would like to give it a shot, I would REALLY appreciate this!!! Thanks so much in Advance! Dan Burke

We might see it for the 700 when that arrives after SP1. I might be speaking for too many but I doubt someone will do the -800 in fictional colors for Airtran like they did for Southwest as the popularity varies a lot among the two. Airtran is leaving a local airport near me soon; PHF.

I also think that somebody should do this paint even though a) Airtran doesn't have -800s and b )Airtran is going to be absorbedI don't really want to wait but it would be very nice to see this paint on the NGX before the -600/-700 comes out

Do you mean Southwest is taking over, or they just won't do the run anymore? I live 10 min. from PHF, and travel to ATL a lot....that would stink!!!

No, I think you mixed two different parts to that post I made. First Airtran is leaving PHF soon (forgot date) I know a replacement is coming and not sure what airports they will serve. The second part was related to the fictional paints for the PMDG NGX and don't think the Airtran would get a fictonal paint as they are not as popular as Southwest. Southwest has a 800 paint in the PMDG NGX paints when they are yet to own a -800... yet. Sorry to cause confusion but sadly Airtran is leaving PHF. Airtran was purchased by southwest. The reason is living phf is because southwest flight to orf and ric, so is not cost effective to haven go to phf.I was a contract mech for airtran 6 years ago now I'm working for airwisconsin airlines at orf. Southwest is looking for the routes and the Nuer 737, after all airtran have a pretty good flee of 737. Southwest will take all the 717 and replaced them with 737. That info is coming from a very reliable sorce.
