September 30, 201114 yr Folks, I wonder if there is a place where METARs from the past are archived. I'd be looking for a few specific METARs from a specific location on a certain day, but that was like ten years ago. Any hint would be appreciated!

September 30, 201114 yr Author Hi, thanks for the hint. I should have been a bit more specific. Unfortunately I'm looking for a European aerodrome. The time frame would've been perfect, as my year of interest is 2001. Google sure gives a number of results, but none seems to have what I'm looking for so far. Any more input is welcome.
September 30, 201114 yr Author No, don't use anything like that. But if anyone has it I'd appreciate if he/she could check for any archive functionality and how far back that goes. Thanks!
October 1, 201114 yr Commercial Member I think Active Sky goes back to 1-1-2007, there wasn't much of an internet back in 2001, you'll probably have a hard time finding wx that far back but good luck. I'm curious, why do you want wx for a specific european aerodrome in 2001? Sounds interesting, whatever you've got up your sleeve. Jim
October 1, 201114 yr Author lol yeah, that's a legitimate question. It was when I took my first ride on a jumpseat, and to make a long story short, it ended in a spectacular night time CAT IIIB approach (and yes, as you could assume the "spectacularity" was exponentiated by the fact it was my first jump ever, you bet). Given today's possibilities with the internet and all, I thought it would maybe have been possible to find out the exact weather that day, but apparently it's still a hard thing to do.
