Nice Cote D'azur (LFMN) like i have never seen

Featured Replies

Firstly, this is my first post within this part of the AVSIM forum, as my other posts have been regarding what system i should build to get the best out of FSX. My aim is to begin flying only main routes (the JFK - LAX, LHW - HKG etc...) This is because the scenery available for the 'big' airports is excellent. (I haven't found any for LAX yet though?) So as a test on my 2 year old alienware laptop (Intel i3 @ 2.13ghz, 3gb RAM and a 240m GPU) i have installed FSX deluxe, bought acceleration, UTX, REX and GEX as well as Nice (LFMN) from Aerosofts online shop (amazing detail, along with all the UK2000 stuff!) So i set every detail to ultimate, got REX to sort my weather and the small 'SHADE add on' to sort my shadows, and this was the result. Only down side is perhaps the autogen buildings, they seem to not possess any hearth or soul. greatnice.jpgUploaded with ImageShack.us I know for many on here this will seem standard, average etc, but for me iv'e never been able to create a visual like it. By no means good FPS on the laptop (about 10FPS in slew mode) but i guess i would have to ask, would the system i am about to create handle this well? i5 2500k sandybridge @4.4ghzGTX560ti 1gb DDR58gb DDR3 RamSeagate 500gb HDD On an Asrock Z68 Pr03 I know the topic kind of borders on technical/hardware, but i wanted to share the image as well. Thank you

My system which is due for delivery on the 27th October 2011

Intel i5 2500k 4.5ghz

Asus GeForce GTX560ti 1024mb GDDR5

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Corsair Vengeance Blue 8gb 1600mhz

Seagate Baracuda 500GB 6GB/s 16mb Cache

Cooler Master Elite case

Cooler Master hyper 212 CPU fan

G7 780w PSU - I know i need to upgrade this!

32" BEKO HD LCD screen

FSX Acceleration + UTX, GEX, REX, GenX VFR UK, all UK2000 airports, Mogwaisoft Shade, many Aerosoft Major Airports

And...

PMDG's 744X Queen of the skies.

Total outlay about £1500. Next i intend on getting a good Yoke and peddles.

No LAX for FSX? Check that out: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_klax.html The pic is really nice. Makes a good athmosphere. And for the system you´re about do build: Looks all right to me. Only the MOBO could be changed to an P67 but that´s a question of what features you later need.

Best regards, Steffen

Cheers guys. I was recommended the Z68 as it allowed the i5 to be overclocked. Thats the only reason i picked it (nothing is ordered yet though!) Im getting carried away and spending too much money :( hkggreat.jpgUploaded with ImageShack.us

It isn´t true that you´ll need an Z68 MOBO to get that i5 oc´ed. Just get an normal Asus P8P67 or similar board and oc the hell out of it. The only thing you have to watch out is that it is an P67 and not an H67 chipset. Btw. I should delete your picture you´ve posted subsequentlycuase this isn´t allows according to the avsim rules. But since you´re new here, I´ll leave it. Please watch out for the rules in the future. :(

Didn't Nice vote as a city to be part of France? Don't think Italy gave them away. At that time France had all the wealth and power in the area.

No, Nice was actually given away in return for other land. Which is why when I go to Monte Carlo by train I pass from Italy into France and then back into Italy again!! The French school atlasses still mark the Italian territory as "les vallées cédées"vololiberista
