What's ironic is that both the pilot and copilot are employee's of Socata's sales/repair facility. They were performing flight tests of recent repairs prior to redelivery to the owner when the failure and crash occurred. At least the owner's insurance rate won't increase because of this, since Socata's insurance will have to cover the hull loss.
