October 24, 201114 yr Hey guys, I had been an absolute fan of the Dreamfleet 727 back in my FS9 days. Now I´m using FSX as my primary flight simulator. Miss my good ol´727 really much.I´m currently on downloading the demo but there will most gauges be inop and so I don´t know how it´s system wise. Can the CS version be compared to the DF one in system programming? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
October 25, 201114 yr One honestly has to state that the current 2.4 release will highly appreciate all the mods being available in the CS forums and then is rendered a very nice plane in FSX. At least in my eyes. You won't see her being bug free then, but with the very good FDE mod from Michael2 she does fly the numbers by the book for example. I'm running her with the Civa INS installed, which is a combination I would recommend. On the systems, you won't get detailed electrical loads or something, but e. g. the fuel systems offers some touchy aspects to take care of. I didn't run the DF, so I can't compare them. So, if you're looking for a nice and 'native' 727, she's the way to go.Maybe the sales at the end of the year are a thing to wait for. 10 Euros for the base pack (which gives you a full featured plane) is a great price and the other variants always come in at that price point, even outside of the sales. So you can get them any time you want.Another honest tip is to go for the 707 though. When the sales are running, she also comes in at 10 Euros but is way better in all aspects and details and gives you top notch optics. You may not be able to land at the small strips, but you will enjoy the looks and feel of her if you like the old steam gauge thingies, that's for sure. The systems also offer some more details and accuracy, check Alan's nice and honest review on her if you like.Or, to make the post even longer, wait for the upcoming 737-100 and -200 to get another current tech plane and the ability to go to smaller airports. But that thing won't be part of the next sales (I guess), so the price is higher.
October 25, 201114 yr Short answer for the system programming, NO, there are limitations. CS product is not target on the hardcore simmer, the system programming and logic is simplify. you can't expect CS to be better than the Dreamfleet 727. At least EPR Setting gauge is missing. You can search the avsim's review. It is a detail review..http://www.avsim.com...10/JFCS/727.htmAlso, you may take a look at the CS forum, there are some topics regards to the fix and issue with current version of their 727.However, if you don't care(or can live) about those some detail and don't need those hardcore stuff, CS727 is the way to go. The price is well worth. Regards Yufeng Faster than the sun, higher than the heaven. Concorde, thanks for your supersonic years...
October 25, 201114 yr I'd have a read of that review if I were you (that one was written by me). I spent a lot of time examining the CS 727, so the review tells you everything you'd need to know in order to decide whether it will float your boat or not. It came pretty close to me recommending it for an Avsim award of some kind, and it was only the fact that you need to do a few tweaks yourself to make it fully realise its potential which stopped me from making that award suggestion to the Avsim Reviews Editor, but even so, I think it is one of the better jets you can get for FS, with much to recommend it.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
October 25, 201114 yr Author Thanks guys. Loaded their demo some second ago. Looks very appealing to me. VC looks good and everything is readable. I think I´ll get it in their 10€ sale and see how she´s doing. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
October 26, 201114 yr If it helps, we've collected some links over at CS. Maybe a new 727 user can take advantage of them as they offer a nice variety of easy to do mods and tweaks, to render her an even better experience. It may not establish a 'final' picture of the plane, but it helps the users in my eyes. http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1319547655
October 26, 201114 yr CoolP, great topic! BTW for me CS 727 is very good even without mods. Regards,Stan

I´ll have a look when I´m home from school. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
October 27, 201114 yr BTW for me CS 727 is very good even without mods. That's even better of course. But e. g. that sound gauge thingy helps on the cockpit sounds without the need to reload the plane. I'd say the rest really is optional and based on personal preference.
