I have not installed SP1.DonLook on your FMA it says ALT ACQ as pitch mode. This could happen when you take offwith an very very light ac and have a heavy climb rate, because your ac was to light. If you are very light, use TO-2 and CLB-2 (Derated take off and Climb thrust)EDIT: This has nothing to do with your probs, but your Gear haven´t been looked and your haveautobrake still on RTO and no traffic alert engaged on ND....../ Leffe Leif A Mikkelsen **********************

I had not at the time finished my checklist this was my 2 second flight with the NGX, I did complete those items prior to me landing in KSFO.
November 9, 201114 yr Author I think you need to engage the FMS speed before you can engage VNAV. AS I'm seeing on the picture you have manual control over the speed...I was using the FMS because VNAV was not engaging. I followed the Tutorial for setting up the aircraft pg 0048. I did not get the VNAV in the pitch mode colume as it states:Arm the LNAV and VNAV modes by pressing the LNAV andVNAV buttons. You’ll see LNAV appear in small whiteletters at the bottom of the FMA roll mode column andVNAV in the pitch mode column. LNAV will engage and turngreen at 50 feet after you lift off and VNAV will engage at400 feet.Have you filled and EXEC'd your perf init page ?Can you see predictions in the LEGS page ?PS. I fly in 2d mode how do you get your reading to show up?

I fly in 2d mode how do you get your reading to show up?For the VNAV to arm and engage you need to set the Vertical Path correctly on the FMS. I haven't seen the tutorial yet but it should explain how you should set the Perf Init page, route page, etc to have a correct vertical path. The VNAV is managed by the FMS so it need to have all the information in order to arm or engage. Sagga Toure
November 9, 201114 yr Author Im doing another test flt. How do set trim in 2d mode and be able to read your setting?
November 9, 201114 yr Im doing another test flt. How do set trim in 2d mode and be able to read your setting?I don't think I understand your question. You want to set the trim from the 2d panel? You can set the trim using your yoke or joystick and verify that on the actual trim setting indicator on the center pedestal or on the lower EICAS. Sagga Toure
November 10, 201114 yr Author Thats exactly what I'm trying to do, I can set the trim but I can't see the reading on the EICAS? Kinda use to the MD11!
November 10, 201114 yr I think you need to engage the FMS speed before you can engage VNAV. AS I'm seeing on the picture you have manual control over the speed...He's is Level Change. I don't think there's anything called "FMS speed" and you don't need to engage anything before VNAV other than execute on the perf init.Thats exactly what I'm trying to do, I can set the trim but I can't see the reading on the EICAS? Kinda use to the MD11!Trim setting on the EICAS? That's way too high tech. Look next to the trim wheel. Matt Cee
