Anyone ever have a keyboard freeze ?? If so what do you think is the cause?

Keyboard freeze? Never heard about it. Don´t you mean that FSX freeze for you?Also wonder how a keyboard could freeze. Maybe outside in freezing conditions. ...Sorry couldn´t resist, no offence meant. / Leffe

Roger,If the OS was failed (mad memory e.g.) = locked up = reboot button on PC or more severe ... shut power off to PC.Which did you do?

Funny, I just submitted a ticket for this an hour or so ago.Fresh install of NGX then SP1, no liveries, running fine since the release of the aircraft, some G3D errors over Orbx scenery but thats seems resolved after the FSUIPC update I done a couple of days ago. A complete new problem now, when I am programming the FMC, often at the takeoff page, I press F3 (remapped shift 3 to F3 for ease of use) to close the FMC and go to the autopilot, the FMC will not close...strange. Closed the FMC with the mouse, and now I realise than the parking brake won't set with the keyboard, can't change views, can't cycle to overhead etc. Alt still works to bring up the menu though. Reload the plane, now it's ok, then half way through programming the FMC, same thing happens. I need to spend some time testing this to see if it is a random freeze or a certain thing in the FMC that triggers it. Possible links to the FSUIPC update, just thinking out loud really, it's a hard one to solve.

Iain,Your keyboard is not locked out (main topic) .. frozen.Sounds like you have a PC problem.

Hellfire that is the same thing going on with me glad to know I am not alone in this .You described it to a tee.If you come up with anything please advise

No PC problem, this happens on the NGX only, when the FMC is being programmed, can't change views anymore in the NGX, can alt tab to windows and keys all work fine.I typed my problem in some detail, the OP was a bit vague so I wasn't sure if we had a similar problem, seems we do.

Maybe you have a procedures problem.I always reboot the PC prior to loading FSX then PMDGNGX cold a dark.No saved flights etc.All works ok ... with Sp1.

Try CTRL + K (or SHIFT + K, don't remember which).This key combination is not mapped in FSX's controls list, but I found out (by own experience) this locks you keyboard and joystick controls, at least inside FSX. It's like a freeze. FSX continues running normally, but no matter what button you press in you keyboard or other hardware, nothing will happens in FSX.

It must be with the NGX no problem with other aircraft.

Make sure the CDU entry window does not have the green outline forkeyboard entries. If it is lit green, the keyboard will be TU for many FSX uses.
