December 7, 201114 yr While there is a huge list of airlines already, there are always more springing up and plenty getting shut down :( I didn't find one of the airlines I regularly see.
December 8, 201114 yr Author well if its complex...will there be periodical updates to add new airlines (I'd like to keep old ones as well) or how about a small fee to add your VA's callsigns?
December 8, 201114 yr Author Thomson for meI think a stickied thread that has airline requests (that gets cleaned up after requests are met if you want) would be beneficial please :) Thomson was one of them, another is Allegiant I have a VA I'd like to add but I'm not sure you guys would be willing to do that or not and I'd need to check with my VA for its unique callsign.
December 9, 201114 yr Author Ok here's another one: Executive Airlines (American Eagle) callsign: Executive Eagle (you can google this for exact details :)
December 9, 201114 yr Can anyone confirm if this callsign is in (as I don't yet have RC):Atlas Air Cargo (GTI) - Pronounced GIANT.
December 9, 201114 yr Atlas Air with the Giant radio call is in the scripts as is Atlas Air, Inc. and Atlas Airlines. It is not listed as Atlas Cargo. Can anyone confirm if this callsign is in (as I don't yet have RC):Atlas Air Cargo (GTI) - Pronounced GIANT.
December 9, 201114 yr American Eagle Airlines, call eagleflight is the closest. There is no entry for Executive Air.Please note that in these articles the relationship between these two airlines and that they use the same call sign and ICAO code.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Eagle_Airlineshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_AirlinesIt is possible to manipulate the data for selecting each name but using the same callsign. You will not notice the difference though in communications. For AI purposes the parking code is the same as well. You will not notice the difference though in communications. For AI purposes the parking code is the same as well.I do not see currently Thompson or Allegiant listed. Its not Thompson, its Thomson (yeah its spelled that way ;)). Ok I had read the wiki about Executive they were using "Executive Eagle" as their callsign, but I understand that American Eage is not always operated by "American Eagle" themselves depending where they are but hence the American Eagle entry, I just thought it would be god to add Executive Airlines to be politically correct (but not required0 (although there is ExecutiveJet, not the same company either)
December 9, 201114 yr The Executive Airlines article states is uses Eagle Flight for the callsign and EGF for the ICAO ident, the same as American Eagle. Executive Eagle Airlines. However in the article on callsigns:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airline_codes-Eit does have Executive Eagle as the call sign and EXK for the ICAO code. A little conflict here.I could not find any data on Executive Eagle for a call sign doing a Yahoo search. Maybe one of these definitions is outdated.RC does not have Thomson in its lists in any vocal form. It was formed and became operational in 2008. Radio call is TOMSON.
December 15, 201114 yr Author Will you be able to add/change callsigns or are you going to wait for V5? Heck why not make it possible to add airline/callsigns in V5 that isn't too complicated Also FYI as of 2010 the FAA now forbids the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) to use the "capflight" callsign, their NEW callsign is "CAP" I don't know if this will come up on the wiki fo ryou but I was personally present when the memorandum came through e CoC (Chain of Command) to inform CAP pilots that they are to no longer use "capflight" as an FAA approved callsign due to some inherent confusion and that they should use CAP as the callsign :).
December 15, 201114 yr RC does not use synthetic speech. All names (and commands) are recorded phrases accomplished by a team of mostly volunteers. There are no anticipated updates for RC4 since many of the current volunteers are no longer accessible. It is also extemely time consuming. Before RC5 is released a call will go out for volunteers and when audio processing starts the the airline and spoken destination airport list will be frozen.
December 15, 201114 yr Author I'm guessing synthetic speech is unrealistic? You aren't able to add accents to synthetic speech? I was hoping it would be a bit more simpler to add new airlines in a current release (once RC5 is current) but recorded voices will be suffice it is what makes it more real. Although I do have a question about real voices as I thought it was synthesized this whole time, why do voices appear to sound louder in the middle of a phrased sequence and then get quieter again?
