December 11, 201114 yr The HUD displayed text disappears when it appears in front of the wiper head (not the blade though) and window edge. No reason it should, it is in front of it on the HUD.Is this "on the fix list" ?* Orest Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com

December 11, 201114 yr Commercial Member This has been in the intro manual since the day we released the NGX - it's not a bug, it's a limitation of the technique we used to create the HUD + 3D landing lights. It can't be fixed - if it bothers you that much, turn the landing lights off. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
December 11, 201114 yr I thought the landing light problem was just the white glow on the wiper blade? Tyler St. Peter Specs- i7-950 OC@ 3.4Ghz, Asus P6TSE, ATI HD5770, 750W PSU, Water cooled, Hitachi 1TB HDD
December 12, 201114 yr Author Ryan -- Landing lights, really? That will affect the visibility of the text oh the HUD overlying those window elements? I'll give it a try. It is an issue in primary mode mainly, you lose the depicted HSI at the bottom.Jason -- Not sure what would make that an unrealistic position, it is pretty much dead center and neutral in the VC.* Orest Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com

December 12, 201114 yr Hi Orest, The simple way is to open the HUD then using your mouse and keyboard space bar, you can position the top of the glare shield to align with the bottom of the HUD or any position that gives the view you prefer. richard welsh. Richard Welsh
December 12, 201114 yr Jason -- Not sure what would make that an unrealistic position, it is pretty much dead center and neutral in the VC.Correct - check the manuals. Your line of sight shall be pretty much flat parallel to the glareshield.Landing lights affect the HGS because in order for it to be collimated they had to draw the display way out in front of the plane, thus the volumetric lights are actually between you and the HGS display.Maybe that's how others do it, but in the case of the NGX I'm not 100% positive on that. Maybe they did something to the layering how things are drawn, but obviously they needed to do something in order for the HUGS image to appear 200' away while still appear "in front" of the cockpit. Because usually it does not get hidden by the wiper but rather appears (correctly) in front of it. So it's not that easy to tell where the actual image is located. Just my uneducated guess.
December 12, 201114 yr Author Well, any way you slice it, the NGX HGS is an amazing software accomplishment and a delight to fly. We can all put up with a few nits, here and there. Will check the landing light issue, and give the repositioning a try.* Orest Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com

Thanks.I do have a certain routine to the lights which I have followed for years, which I hate to break. So I guess I have a choice. * Orest Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com
