December 12, 201114 yr As far as carrying the charts goes, pilots are indeed carrying charts for all concievale optional airports such as arrival alternates, or en-route alternates.edit: in light of your response now... pilot may get assigned any route within route framework of the airline. While in Europe usually pilots return to their base after a trip of the day or two, in America with the megaairlines, that can be quite different and you can end up with a 5 day trip where you have legs between 30 minutes and 5 hours of flighttime, and not being in the same airport twice... --Peter Fabian
December 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member Thanks for your answer! You are right of course, and I also do NOT want the SID/STAR or departure runway to be preselected after having chosen a COROUTE, because I want to choose them myself instead. But what I'm trying to tell, is that the FMC does NOT disregard/ignore departure runways from and .rte. It DOES disregard/ignore the SID/STARs though, that all works fine. I have no idea how I can exclude departure runway in FSBuild, so it will always be preselected for me I guess.Do you want me to send you my FSBuild created .rte file, so you can test it? What happens to is, when I choose my FSBuild created COROUTE, this afternoon EHAMLFMN, it does NOT ignore the departure runway from the .rte file. Instead it has preselected it already both on the RTE page, and in the DEP/ARR page.AH no departure runway will NOT be removed. That's ok.The problem starts with procedure stuff. For example to the best of my knowledge no such utility will describe a direct to with forced turn. Or proceed on HDG (nmote heading not track) until XX miles from YYY. There are many many more such examples. In one case I saw from support some guy exported the approach but there was no missed approach part. That's not very good now is it ?Fuel planning..Please spare me ! ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================
December 12, 201114 yr Hi guys,I can also confirm what Arjen is seeing with respect to departure runways when selecting a rte file created by FSBuild 2.4.Not causing any problems here either, but just thought I would add my 2 cents worth. My route: KABQ..LVS. J18. GCK . J96 . IRK. MOTIF2.KMDW with Runway 26 selected by FSBuild as departure runway. The MOTIF2 STAR did not show up as advertised.I can confirm this as well. Didn't cause a problem, but I noticed that it wasn't working the way it was described in the release notes. Thanks,John - John Drago
December 12, 201114 yr "simply delete the runway number in the Departure section runway pulldown box"I tried it but still got the RWY in the rte file. How did you do it?1 - Select/build a flightplan without exporting it to PMDG flightplan folder - At this point there will be a departure runway listed in the departure section.2 - Highlight then delete the runway number from the Runway pulldown box in the departure section. Now the departure runway box should be blank.3 - Build the plan again, this time exporting to the PMDG flightplan folder. That does it for me.
