New Computer + NGX = ?

Isn't 600Watts more than enough for a 2600?
It's more about the GPU. And you could run a 560Ti + overclocked 2500K/2600K on a good 600W PSU. You could even run an overclocked GTX580 on that Antec 620WDon't go by the advertised W. Some PSU's are labeled using maximum power draw, some others sustained power draw. Besides, it's de wattage in the 12V rail(s) what determines how much power they can deliver to your CPU and GPU.You also want good signal quality (little ripple and good voltage regulation), and active PFC.

Oh ok.BTW, I need to get this bought by tomorrow. @Dario Is the EVGA I put there horrible?

i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

No, it's not horrible, but the GTX460 1GB or GTX560Ti are much better value.

This 460 seems good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130749 336 stream cores which is good, and a 800mhz clock. All the GTX560tis that Newegg has are $200+, and that is not a better value. This Asus (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121435) seems like a much better value to me, $129 and a 910mhz clock.Or even the EVGA we're talking about (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130625) 951mhz and $134. Yes, both of them have lower stream processors.

You are probably looking at the new 448 sp 560TiA 384sp Ti goes for some $200http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401

I will not pay $200 for a graphics card. I do not have that kind of money.
Then why were you looking at a 2600K? A GTX460 1GB and 2500K will get the job done anywayAre you overclocking the CPU? because if yu are, you'll need better cooling, if you don't, you could save some money with a H67 board and a I5 2500 (non K)

Why do you make this so hard? tongue.pngLook, I've never overclocked before, but it definitely doesn't mean I'm handicapped to it. I don't know if I should go with the non K or K version. I think I'll be able to bring it up to a fairly good 4.5ghz.

Your original plan:I7 2600K..................$320Crapmax 750W...............$70GTX550Ti..................$130------------------------------TOTAL.....................$520If you could afford that, then....I5 2500K..................$220Antec HCG620...............$74GTX460 1GB................$150CM Hyper 212 Evo...........$34------------------------------TOTAL.....................$478or with the 560Ti....I5 2500K..................$220Antec HCG620...............$74GTX560 Ti.................$210CM Hyper 212 Evo...........$34------------------------------TOTAL.....................$538Going the H67 (no overclock) route you would save $10 in the CPU, $34 in the cooler, and maybe $30-$40 in the motherboard. Your call, but the performance boost in FSX you get out of OCing is great... and it's so much fun too :)

Neither had i overclocked until i did. Go with the 1G 560Ti. you won,t be sorry and as said before, for FSX 2500k is just as good as 2600k. Why have i got a 2600k and not a 2500k? Because i didn't do my homework before i bought.

Alright guys.I'm back, and I'm looking here on the internet and most users suggest overclocking an 2500k to some 4.5. Is that the highest it goes? Zach's sig says he's on 4.8. Is 4.5 going to be a big update for me, coming from 2.93 GHz? What kind of improvements in FPS will I see in the NGX WITH some sort of weather? (Overcast clouds, for example, and using REX clouds) Like I said previously, I get like 7 FPS with clouds and weather in the NGX or any other aircraft. Also, a lot of users here on the forums show that they have a 2600k. Is that because of Hyper-Threading? I will be using this new computer to also render some YT videos on VideoStudio, which takes a while on my 2.93. Also, should I take the Antec Power Supply or the Corsair one that Dario pointed out? Also, is this Venegance good memory? I know we havn't touched the RAM topic so I just wanted to check. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233144 Also, how are Barracuda drives? I definately don't want to get a WD Green, and Blacks are too expensive. I can't find reasonably priced Blue's, either. Also, with the Hyper 212 will it cool nicely with the 2500k?

You wanted a 2600k which is 100 bucks more than the 2500k. So I quoted you a 2500k and added 100 bucks onto the GPU (6590)....much better balanced card.6590 doesn't seem to be liked by many here, although I found it performed better than my old GTX470 (perfomed better means the same FPS but better quality AA and AF)If if the 6950 were to be too big for the case, then if I were you, I wouldn't LOL it, it would only mean the case is the biggest mistake in your purchase as you are buying a PC with ZERO potential to upgrade in the future.A 2500K at 4.5 will be big FPS boost for you. Like I said before, I fly the NGX, with weather, at a mid sized airport and lock my frames externally at 22FPS: If the airport gets busy, with weather and AI etc, then I can see around 14 to 18 FPS. The CPU is mostly limited by the voltage required to hold a good clock speed 24/7. MOst recommend not to run above 1,4v vcore, so my cpu runs at 4.7 at 1.385v. Some will go a little faster, some a little less. Temperature is NOT a factor at this speed. The 3 systems I built, a good aircooler holds the temps the same as my H70 (around 60degrees under stress test).RAM, im no expert, looks good to me.

That RAM is ok, why not. Wow, 8GB for 40 bucks.CM 212 Plus or Evo is great for the priceAnd for the PSU, I would get the Antec HCG620, or this Seasonic which is the same as the HCG620 but $4 cheaperAs for the 2600K vs 2500K, it's up to you to decide how much you need Hyperthreading and if you are willing to pay $100 for it. HT gives an extra 15-25% more or less in heavily threaded apps.Like we say here, tú mismo con tu mecanismo (your call)

Ok Dario thanks for helping me.I looked on Wikipedia but I can't seem to understand what hyper threading is. Does it mean I can run multiple applications or something like that? Also, doesn't the 2600k have a higher cache? (8MB vs 6MB)

It gives you more threads, or four virtual cores (1 virtual core to each core). Some programs are designed to use multiple threads efficiently, FSX is not (and most other programs). That's why the 2600k really isn't worth the extra $100 for most people! The extra cache will show no benefit what so ever to you.
