December 22, 201114 yr As some of you may know, I've switched to REX (FS9) and absolutely think it's one of the best add-ons for FS2004. I'm very happy with what I have and wonder if I should "leave well enough alone", or tackle the installation of Overdrive. Is there really that much difference between what REX has as native versus the Overdrive addition? Thank you.
December 22, 201114 yr I was thinking the exact same thing. It almost seems like a perfect product the way it sits, is there actually a need for the overdrive pack?? Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
December 22, 201114 yr The installation will not spoil anything in your default REX install, so there is nothing to lose.On the other hand you will get many many more cloud, sky, water, environ and airport textures to choose from.I think having a bigger choice is always great (well, almost always)!
December 22, 201114 yr Commercial Member Thanks Rafal,There are some nice material in this package... just because it's free doesn't mean it's cheap ;)This link shows what the clouds and formations look like: http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/overdrivefs9.html as well as sky textures, etc.Cheers gents, and thanks again Chuck for the kind words and supporting us.Happy Holidays :D Tim FuchsManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
December 23, 201114 yr Author I just installed Overdrive and flew a test flight. REX continues to impress. You can see by my specs that I'm fully FSX capable. :( But with REX and similar add-ons I see absolutely no reason to leave FS9. I'm very happy! And, if you don't have REX or haven't installed Overdrive, I highly recommend them.Merry Christmas.
