PMDG 737-800 NGX Lurching to one side

Featured Replies

I have been flying the above plane for a number of months and have had no real problems however that has changed recently. In mid flight (in the cruise) the plane lurches to the left for some reason. Payload and fuel seems to be ok as far as balance goes and have disabled winds aloft in Active Sky 2012. Can anybody think of a reason why this is happening, I am no expert so i suppose I could be doing something wrong!!!!!! Not sure if this is then causing the plane to be adrift on the flight planRegardsMarshall Priceman

Something similar to this happened to me while on the ground a little while back. I was using the -700 and when I began my taxi, the plane just wanted to go to the right. Both engines were running and spooled to same N1 and weight and balance was also fine. Restarted FSX and never seen the problem since.

I have only recently encountered this very problem with the NGX. However, it also appeared while flying the JF DC3 recently. This was to the point that the entire flight was unflyable. We're not talking of a small pull to the left or the right, but the entire plane would move into a spiral dive if not corrected. Anyway, I noticed that it had only happened since running FS RealWX weather, which is a freeware that has recently been discussed around here, which incidentally appears, initially, to be very good. I cannot remember what exactly I disabled, but there were a couple of things connected with winds aloft, I think gusts was one of them. Well, after restarting FSX the issue had disappeared, so it may have disappeared on it's own but it seems odd that I have not had the issue since.

Hey Marshall, sometimes i get this, this is what i do and it always works: on your number pad, not the row of numbers, push the number 5. Make sure your NUM LOCK is ON.For some reason, sometimes my calibration gets messed up during taxi or flight and i have to reset it. It works instantly.Good Luck

Best practice is to calibrate before push back on EVERY Flight Then do it again before your TD. Make sure you hit the pause button in FSX before you do the calibration if your doing it from Control Panel in the air like I do. If your doing it from FSX it will just pause the sim while your doing it. It is very easy for brief surges in the USB connection to cause your controllers to become out of alignment during a flight, especially on long hauls.Example: You have an X52 Pro and move the controllers off to the side of your desk while on autopilot. The USB plug is a little loose and you slightly disconnect for a split second. That will throw your calibration off. If it is bad enough when you disconnect the AP to start your approach the plane could flip with the slightest movement left or right. So always calibrate each and every flight.

As a note on your taxi, by the way, if you have weather enabled, and the wind is strong enough, it's going to push you. You might not think your plane is light enough to be affected, but consider the gigantic sail you have at the back (vertical stabilizer). Wind pushing against that is going to affect steering on the ground.

Thanks for that tip Kyle. I recently purchased AS2012 and I don't remember the weather/wind on that particular flight. Could very well have been the culprit. Thanks.

Thanks very much for all your advice the caliberation seems to have helped. After lots of reading I think it me be worth thinking about buying a registered version of FSUIPC, any views?
