SDK again...

Featured Replies

...the only thing I have ever read about the SDK are polite reasonable requests, which have all been responded with silence from PMDG.
Ryan did respond. Check the SDK threads. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean that PMDG has been silent.I too am anxious for developers to get their hands on the SDK. FS2Crew will make the NGX even more of a dream. Until then, I'm happy just to be flying the most advanced and highest fidelity aircraft ever created for FS.

Hi Trevor, sure, I agree with your post. Ryan did respond, but only once, I think I'm right in saying, since November 8th!!!

Wrong!
Posted by RSR Dec 9, 2011The SDK package is still in holding as previously discussed. Once we have the all-clear on it, we'll let you know where to get it.Posted By Ryan Jan 4, 2012As RSR said back a month or so ago, there is a serious legal issue preventing the release. This is not a lie, the SDK has been done since November and I have the actual zip file sitting right here on my desktop - it contains a PDF explaining how to use it as well as example C++ code and a header file that contains all the functions for accessing the panel. Our attorneys have not given us the ok to release it as there are still liability concerns. The issues in question need to be resolved before we can and that is proving difficult. This has nothing to do with MS Flight or any deal with anyone.Ryan Maziarz

Hiya, of course I've read, it but like I said... Ryan did respond, but only once, I think I'm right in saying, since November 8th!!! No I don't have a problem with the response, it has simply served to clarify things and confirm that the SDK is going to be released, which is all that has been needed all along. :(

If you follow this link you will see that Ryan responded Yesterday and then Locked the Post.http://forum.avsim.n...k-status-again/You were very active in this post as well so how you could have missed Ryans reply is beyond me.

I think Ryan et. al. finally learned their lesson. Rather than locking these SDK threads, they are allowing it to stay open as a means of keeping all of the repetitive questions in one place.

You guys still aint getting it. I know some of you have this little fantasy in your head that you have some role to play or a say about the SDK release. Sorry to burst you bubble but the simple fact is this: You paid for and recieved a product which is the end of their obligations to you. Release of the SDK is a PMDG Business decision and you have no say in the matter at all.Personally I am patient and was going to buy FS2crew when it was eventually released. No longer considering it now because I am so tired of seeing a bunch of adults act like children that can't accept the word No or you will have to wait a bit longer. The fact that the developer of FS2crew stands by in the background while their followers come over here and continously pressure PMDG in their own Forum is a pretty sad thing too.
Okay so Pmdg legally doesn't have any obligation to its customers other than the ngx itself. Sure. However, it is good business practice to, especially if you've told your customers that it will happen, at least give frequent, POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL updates on the situation and perhaps try to work with customers and developers to do the best they can in the situation. I think that PMDG has given a sort of annoyed and arrogent vibe about the subject and I find that rather unprofessional. The customer is always right and I think this is something that is ESSENTIAL to GOOD business. Its kind of like a restaurant. If I sit down at a restaurant with the best pizza in town, and I order pizza and breadsticks and I get my pizza in 5 minutes, but an hour passes and still no breadsticks, then I'm gonna ask, are the breadstick coming soon? If the waiter or waitress tells me: be patient and wait your turn, and don't bother me again, then I don't care how good the food is, that is gonna make me wanna leave the restaurant. So see, PMDG has a great product but mistreatment of customers is unprofessional and eventually will start to work against them. Now if the waitress/waiter told me: "I'm sorry, there is a problem with the oven. While you wait, would you like something else to drink? I will be sure to keep you updated on your breadsticks. Once again, thank you for your patience" then I would be much more inclined to wait and have no hard feelings toward the restaurant. And UAL, if you find this stuff annoying, then STOP LOOKING AT IT!! It's okay if you don't want to be apart of it but many others are very anxious and they have every right to be so don't be the police man here. Orlando

Since my new found love of FS2Crew, I am now on the SDK bandwagon. Oh yeah, are there legal issues pending on Tutorial #2?

No issues on the tutorial. Problem is that PMDG is too busy writing a letter of apology about the SDK delay, which I am sure they plan to deliver on bended knee.Gosh, I wish I could direct some of this fervor toward the folks at Angle of Attack. Talk about poor customer communication and resistance to commit. Yet, everyone seems so forgiving when it comes to that--notwithstanding the fact that the NGX will likely be celebrating its 10th anniversary by the time the training videos are complete.

Hey, come on Paul. That's a little harsh don't you think. Bryan has always been courteous, informative and helpful on this and his own forum and to imply that he is sneaking around in the background cheer leading a bunch of FS2CREW lobbyists is a bit unfair. Not withstanding the fact that he also puts out a top drawer product and you know it.Regards,
