About 490 Mb for the whole set, free. This set is probably oversampled, but should look OK. Steve Greenwood would know more about that, if he looks at it.EDITED:I should have checked it before I wrote. Jim Keir's LWMViewer shows this set of BGLs to be terrible! There is a missing band around each BGL. It was made as LOD 9... too bad. :(=======================This brings up an important issue. There is a lot of new mesh BGLs being made, and a lot of them are terrible. Spikes, holes, missing edges ( like the above set ), wrong projections, "dirty" data....Steve Greenwood, and Justin Tyme have both spent quite some time, money and effort to take care of the above problems. Both of them sell their mesh sets for a reasonable amount, and both are quite straight-forward about the methods and means of their creation.I recently read a thread about some newer East Coast mesh, in which the author was quite cavalier about the "bumps" in the mesh. All this author did was push the raw SRTM data through resample like it was a meat grinder, and then basked in the glory of his creation. A few of us know just what he created.If you like "dirty" data mindlessly spit out, then there will soon be a whole set of this available, I'm sure. Just don't expect the "author" to correct any problems with it. Sorry about the rant, but in this case you get what you've paid for.Dick

I dont want to become embroiled in a discussion between any of the conflicting parties here. Only one question. In areas where thereare skews in the data for whatever reason (security or bad data etc), is it possible to flatten these out level? I'd much prefer an unrealistic level piece of ground than an unrealistic spike. I've no idea how to do this myself...but sure wouldnt mind some level ground even if its wrong.Thanks and I do appreciate your work Rob!Eric

Hi all:thanks to Rhumba, who is one of the true FS scenery "gurus" and has been for many years (many FS add-ons would have been impossible without his utilities and tutorials), Mr. Gainer has finally shown his true nature here on AVSIM (he's recently been banned from another FS forum for his abusive posts).I (a fellow mesh designer) was one of the first to point out the various problems with Rob's mesh files and did so in a constructive manner, explaining what the issues are and how to fix them. Ever since then, he's sent the most bizzare and vile emails to myself and people who might know me, not about mesh design but about my person! I'm not going to quote from these emails but they are of the exact same style and content as his post above.It's sad to see that someone, who might have had the good intentions of providing some freeware mesh to the community, sees it fit to attack the messengers in such bizarre manner.This is NOT a conspiracy against Rob, it's a public denouncement of his unbelievable behavior towards Dick, myself, and others.Holger Sandmann
