January 22, 201214 yr Hi guys,I´m upon a flight from Portland to Spokane. I´ll depart just minutes before sunrise and wonder what I have to set that light switcher. Night or day? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
January 22, 201214 yr You don't have to set it either way. I keep it off to boost performncrduring daytime flights, but I have left it off at night as well and I think the night lighting still looks respectable. Shane Gavin
January 22, 201214 yr It just removes the 3D lights. You can only see them at night but they are present during the day even though you cannot see them. Most poeple shut them off while flying during the day and turn them on at night.Like Shane I leave them off all the time for the performance gain. January 22, 201214 yr Author All right, thanks! :( Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
January 22, 201214 yr Steffen, it may well be worth your while to run a small test of your own, just to see if you find any difference. When Orbx initially released the tweak, some guys said they were getting noticeable savings on frames, while others, including myself, saw no difference at all.As a side note, all new scenery has lights turned off by default. January 23, 201214 yr I am one of those who find no difference with this tweak but I think it is now set to on by default.Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
January 23, 201214 yr Funny: to me it makes a world of difference. Well, I think that the difference between 20 or 25 above Portland is a world of difference! :( Without the switcher things look choppy over there and with the switcher things are pretty smooth. Of course it all depends on your settings and where you fly! Obviously there aren't many lights in the mountains. :(
