Fsx won't start anymore

Featured Replies

That was covered already. I do believe the issue is somewhere around in the ballpark of this, though.
I don't see a DirectX update mentioned anywhere up-thread. edit: OK, I see it's in the link. Also, the reason that removing SP2 solves the problem is that SP2 (and also Acceleration) is the only version of FSX that requires hardware vertex shader support, and if the DX/driver combination doesn't detect/report the proper level of shader support, this error occurs. One more note...if DX9 hasn't been updated recently, then it's a good idea to update it and reinstall the video driver afterwards.

Try this one for luck: Go to Windows Update and make sure you got the latest versions of DirectX, MSVC and .NET Runtimes. Also if FSX won't start with SP2, maybe it might with Acceleration?Cheers,- jahman.

That's the opposite of what NickN says.Cheers,- jahman.

jahman,

That's the opposite of what NickN says.
It is not necessary to run FSX before SP2 is installed. MS will tell you to do so if it is necessary. When the first time FSX is running, it will detect the hardware and generate several files. If you run it before the SP2 is installed, those files could cause a conflict with SP2 and generate a warning that xamil and I have encountered. So I recommend him not to run FSX until SP2 is installed.

xamil,One more thing. Make sure you use nvidia inspector to edit FSX profile AFTER successfully running FSX with SP2 installed. I recommend the following steps:1. Install FSX2. Install SP13. Install SP24. Run FSX5. Run nvidia inspectorGood luck

You don't happen to have a logitech USB headset by any chance do you? I think this was the root cause of sp2p failing for meSent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Actually I do have a logitech USB headset, but it is connected to my laptop which is networked with my pc and I tried several reinstall of fsx when my laptop was switched off. Also I have logitech g940. If that's the problem I will throw that sh*t out of my window..Unfortunately I have to go to a business trip tomorrow for a week, but will report back next weekend what's the story with this logitech thing. I can see myself thinking of what yoke should I buy...
