I would have to disagree. I think that the route they are taking has a lot of potential, however they have boycotted the third party development. Without PMDG, ORBX, aerosoft, flytampa, etc. supporting the game, it is going to crash and burn. The majority of users only enjoy FSX because of the DLC. To be honest, I don't think Microsoft is capable of releasing a product as good as PMDG or ORBX. I think others would agree with me that they are not willing to spend $5.99 for a Cessna that isn't top quality (just an example). I've seen that to release a top quality product like the NGX, it takes time, and I don't think that Microsoft really cares about the quality, however how much it will make. I understand that they are trying to attract new users, but honestly people will only play the game for 4-5 hours then get bored and will want to move on to something a little more challenging/realistic. I say this because this was exactly what I was like, and I have noticed this with many other users. It's a lot of fun just flying around doing whatever, but you can only do that so much. All in all, I don't think they will capitalize on the potential because we, the core users, aren't their target user and because they are not going to work with the third party development teams.

No, MS did not boycott 3PD development. Just because a few 3PD came public about their disagreement with MS does not mean there will be no further contract with others.Since the base package is free, quality will be important if MS wants to make money. Maybe not PMDG and Orbx quality, but DLC will be certainly be way better than default FSX or the average payware on the market.

I agree, but considering the game is pretty much FSX 2.0 I think I'd rather stick to FSX because of PMDG and Orbx. Sure there will be other 3rd party developers, but honestly, I don't think the quality of product will be good for enough for a lot of us to move to flight. I just don't think that Microsoft cares about the core users as much any more.

This makes me lol. If Flight was FSX 2.0, I doubt there would be so much rage in the forums and on the YT channel.

Haha, I meant as far as graphics and how smooth the game runs. The game definitely is a downgrade in some areas, but there are improvements to FSX.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but a year away from today we are in the wasteland, probably killing zombies and such.. december 2012 has been passed..TV-Wasteland-570x427.jpg

Just noticed they've removed all the negative comments and closed ratings on their YouTube videos, damage control is in full swing.
I've they hired somebody from Orbx?

Seem to have an answer for everything? Or is it simply internal anger. I find many people at this forumto be angy, errogant mean. I releise now why I never used it! Buy. They are correct what they say about it at Flight forums.
