CTD attempting to open FSUIPC

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,Maybe this has been posted previously?Fresh install of FSX and the latest FSUIPC then fresh install of NGX. Started FSX with "Run as Administrator" and all fires up nicely, no problems with NGX.NOW THE PROBLEM:Go to open FSUIPC ..the horrid.....CTD.I have access to FSUIPC with any of the default aircraft but not NGX.Any assistance would be appreciated.

I had that a few times, but I'm not sure what caused it in the end. I'm not sure how I fixed it, either, as it's no longer an issue. Try loading a default plane, tooling around with the settings in FSUIPC, click okay and then close FSX. Next time open it up with the NGX and try the menu item for FSUIPC. That's essentially what I did.I was trying to set joystick keys to items when I was in the NGX and it froze, so I used the default Cessna, went into FSUIPC for the changes and saved them there. After that, I was able to get into FSUIPC when in the NGX.

did it crash when you were clicking addons in the menu bar?If so you probably need to download the Vista 32-bit version of UIAutomationCore.dll and put it in your main FSX folder.Make sure it's Vista 32-bit.

Ken, good thought, but I have that fix and it still did it for FSUIPC only (meaning, none of the other menu options), and only with the NGX. It could be related in some way, but even with the fix, it still happens.

oh, ok. Generally when I mess with fsuipc I'm constantly closing & reopening it testing settings, so I thought maybe that was it.I remember Pete putting out an update not too long ago, maybe a month to 6 weeks. Is your FSUIPC up to date?

It was a good stab Ken. Actually, that could've been my fix (the new FSUIPC version), but I could be wrong. Another good idea.

Had that too when assigning joystick keys in FSUIPC. Getting the latest version definitely fixed it for me.RegardsOliOliver BranaschkySent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a small issue with FSUIPC when going in to tweak a calibration setting, change or add a button assignment. FSUIPC will sometimes freeze. but if i exit FSUIPC and then re open, it is working again.

Thanks guys for the assistance, much appreciated. It would seem I can access FSUIPC in NGX whenever I have a fresh install of the progy (fresh .ini file), I can action any Misc items and even allocate features such as engine reversers via Buttons and Switches but soon as I create any Profiles in FSUIPC the problem arises with CTD.I do have the latest version of FSUIPC installed.I remember the release notes that came out with NGX advised us all that the beta test team did have problems with FSUIPC when used for flight controls in NGX, the fix was to delete the FSUIPC.ini file and allow it to create a fresh copy. I am sure PMDG and Pete Dowson would have had some discussion on the subject and maybe found a solution?Regards,
