Problems?

Featured Replies

Is the panel VC only? I was under the impression that it had 2D as well. My old eyes don't work well with VC panels. The G500 never gets past the "Initializing" stage. Map works ok but that's all. Something missing? Is the weather gauge included in the basic package or is it a separate add on or purchase. Pretty package but seems to be not well done. Reinstalled twice just in case that was the problem but no joy? Suggestions?

Hi there. The main cockpit is VC only, yes. You have some 2D popups, but no complete 2D cockpit. But I think Carenado releases are like that since quite some time.I don't have the initializing error on the G500, but you might help the panel if you toggle the radio master off and on again. It's to the left of the PFD. The weather gauge is there and you just have to turn it on. I wouldn't call it the best WR gauge out there, but it shows what's available in FSX, so a sort of weather impression. Hoping it helps. :(

Yes that's right. If the G500 won't initialise, just cycle the radio master, That'll fix it.Weather gauge, is knob on the top right. Switch it to the last but one position. You will have to adjust the angle though, it won't see the weather unless it's properly orientated. Try 10-15 degrees down in cruise. As for VC only, if you have a reasonably powerful PC, and preferably a 24 inch monitor it's excellent.

Thanks guys. I have a new state of the art system really loaded and a 24 inch monitor but still have problems reading some of the gauges that aren't popups.

I must admit I'm cheating on e. g. the status display or the small switch panel for prop heat and stuff. With TrackIR and EZCA, that's no problem and maybe worth a look as it enhances all planes in your hangar. I also have the tooltips on, in case I don't know about a switch status. For example, the YD switch may be labelled the wrong way as it reads ON and AUTO, while I think it should be OFF and AUTO. The tooltip and the AP status display gives the hint on the real status then. The tooltips also help on the pressurization selector. Or, as said, you use EZCA to zoom in on that one.I know, only workarounds of some kinds, but maybe it helps. :(

Zoom in with the + key and zoom out again with the - key..

Yeah. Figured that out years ago. Still don't like it. Been flying Flight Sims since Sublogic on a Commodore 64. Learned to program Fortran (anyone remember that) on an IBM mainframe in college and built and rebuilt my own computers so been around awhile. Problem started because I couldn't see the radio master switch without a hint.

Ah, FORTAN. I was taught that by the Lords of COBOL back in 1975.
