March 28, 201214 yr http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd,6096183760,11787is all four models 600 through 900 on CD or DVD at $36 US. When the 800/900 is installed it updates the instrumentation of the 600/700 that has missing features like TCAS as I recall. These models include just about full systems control in the FMC and overhead panels with most buttons functioning and system functions are correctly dependent upon one another. These are not jump in and fly models. Hydraulics, fuel management, electrics, and pneumatics all have controls. The FMC and avionics are well modeled with only weather radar not included as PMDG's policy is not to include it since in FS9 it is based on cloud objects and not true to form in their opinion.Documentation in file form is complete as far as details of the FMC and systems. For me to smooth out the FMC documentation I purchased the following book:http://www.amazon.com/Flying-Boeing-700-Flight-Simulators/dp/0936283106/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1332965962&sr=1-1at $30. It is common to many B700 series models that use the Boeing Smith's FMC. It is a good training and reference manual for operations (not systems) including the FMC setup procedures and contains practical examples and tips throughout. Mike Ray is a retired United Airlines captain. He also has his own website here:http://www.utem.com/Please note that it is the PC Sim line that is of interest as opposed to the real world checkride series (more expensive) that is of interest. The site itseelf has many interesting articles.
March 29, 201214 yr I'd join the chorus of recommendations for the iFly 737, except that you already have the PMDG version, which is older but still very good. Perhaps you should invest the time learning the PMDG bird first, and then move on to other iterations later; that's what I did. The Wilco 737 is the Classic (300, 400, 500), and is pretty good if you add the recent Evo panel upgrade, except for the external model which is best replaced with the 50N version. There's also the Tinmouse II 737-200, available for free in the Avsim library.Lots of good options for 737's in FS9. John G.
March 29, 201214 yr I don't think it's either/or - different 737 range and both great systems wise. Of course I must tout iFly NGs as a more than worthy successor to the venerable PMDG series. Regards, Mark
March 30, 201214 yr I'm just another person recommending the iFly product. I've got an old dog of a computer and it runs fine on it. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
March 30, 201214 yr HiI would agree with the majority - iFly is best although PMDG would be a close second; the Wilco 737 is not in the same league IMO as these two although I have no experience with the Evo upgrade, nor do I plan to get it.Kind regards,Bill
