February 19, 201214 yr I normally use FSX on a reasonable specification desktop PC. I needed a cheap general purpose laptop and bought a Toshiba Satellite with Win7 Home Premium, AMD E300 processor (1.3GhX, 488 MHz, 1MB), AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics, 3G RAM and a 500 GB hard drive. It cost £299.99 from Sainsbury - a UK supermarket chain.More in hope than expectation, I decided to install FS9. I was so surprised by the performance that I then also installed Just Flight's VFR Photographic Scenery for the whole of England and Wales, together with UK2000's East Anglia and North London airports.i'm achieving between 35 and 39 fps consistently in full screen mode using the default C172 with the frame rate locked to 40 fps, and all display settings maxed out, Edited February 19, 201214 yr by mgh Gerry Howard
February 19, 201214 yr Good on you, laptops have become very powerful now. A lot of the guys now bring them with them to our Flightsim Group meetins as it's easier than lugging around a desktop P.C. and monitors. In my opinion FS9 can look almost as good as FSX if you use the 'Enbeseries Bloom' addon and had an undiscovered potential.
