February 20, 201214 yr By short I mean 30 minutes or just a little more in countries outside of the us (or even in the western US) I am looking specifically for flights that involve mountains.
February 20, 201214 yr You should investigate the Orbx sceneries if you don't already have them. Orbx's PNW, NRM & CRM all have plenty of strips that would meet your requirements. Your system must be robust enough to handle them and still give you a satisfactory framerate. It would be worth your while to look into them - in my opinion. John
February 20, 201214 yr If I might suggest a lovely spot try CYBD (Bella Coola) to CYJQ (Denny Island) or CAF2 (Bella Bella Campbell).Easy VFR and delightful scenery over mountains, rivers, and the Pacific Ocean.Several seaplane bases are also within a 50NM radius of CYBD as well as numerous remote strips like CAJ4 and CBX3. You even ahve some handy NDB's around to help if the weather turns rubbish...as it frequently does.**edit**I am also higly partial to the areas surrounding CYCG (Castlegar). Again loads of VFR possibilities and some very tricky strips and amphib possibilities litter the area.**edit**I also forgot to mention the obvious.....Tongass Fjords and the areas surrounding Annette Island (PANT) and Ketchikan (PAKT) up in Alaska. You can't go wrong there either.....although watch for IMC all the time :( AVSIM Staff ReviewerBush Is Good!

February 22, 201214 yr Some of my favorite GA happens right east of Portland. With ORBX PNW it is even better, but still nice without it.Try a flight from Cascade Locks http://www.airnav.com/airport/KCZKand either fly to Portland KPDX or to one of the many small air strips around the area. While you're there you can fly around Mt. Hood. Cheers, Jonathan
