by the time I get to destination, the airport terminals are always gone

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone:It seems that ever since I upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit, whenever I arrive at my destination, many of the airport terminals and objects are not drawing. They just disappear, along with several planes. Even some vehicles are shown rolling on the tarmac with just the 4 wheels displaying but no chasis to the vehicle. The starting airport shows everything. It is amlost as if there is not enough RAM to display everything after working hard for an entire flight. (I have 8 GB RAM). I have read that ASUS board are notorious for having issues like these. I often cannot switch from full screen to windowed mode without all the praphics become unstable (flickeringblacking out, etc) necessitatin a reboot of FSX. Is there any solution that anyone knows of for this. I have some really nice addon airports, but no matter where I fly, this is always the result at any destination airport. Thanks,Chris CatalanoIntel Core 2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16 Ghz 3.17 GhzInstalled Memory (RAM): 8 GB64 Bit Operating SystemMother Board: ASUS Striker II N.S.E. Have you deleted your fsx.cfg file yet?

It's a sure sign of memory issues... you should be running FSX SP2 or Acceleration if you aren't already. Uiautomationcore.dll version 6.0.5840.16386 from this link http://download772.m...omationCore.zip dropped in the main FSX directory should do the trick for your windowed/full screen problem.DJ

I've been building rigs with ASUS boards for more than 20 years and I've never had any problems with any version of FS so I'm not sure who told you that. I would highly doubt that there is any truth to that rumor. If things start disappearing then it probably indeed a memory issue. The question is what tweaks have you made to your FSX.cfg? Are you using ENB? Are you using native FSX scenery and AI? You need to provide more information, however, if you are NOT using a stock FSX.cfg the first thing I would do is fly the same route with a clean FSX.cfg file and troubleshoot from there.

HI:What is ENB? Also, I use a lot of Mega Scenery Earth files, so I guess I am not using only Native FSX scenery. I am not sure if I have made any tweaks to the cfg file... So I should delete my FS.cfg file, and then let FS rebuild a new one?Chris

Have you tried adding highmemfix=1 to fsx.cfg (under graphics section)?I had the same problem and this great tweak fixed my fsx.

Highmemfix=1 is the correct solution to this problem

I just checked - I aparently already added highmemfix=1 to the FSX CFG file in the past. So that may not help me now. However, I tried deleting my CFG file and having a new one built as some of you suggested - so far the terminals were there when I landed at my destination (although it was night - not sure if that makes it easier for FSX to hold onto things in the RAM...I tried the .dll fix, and it did nothing (I had tried it once before). Once I switch screens to either save a flight or switch to windowed mode and back, the graphics become unstable and flicker or go black...Thanks though- I may be making progress...Chris

Change your World time to Day and see if the terminals are stil there. Better yet, start your flight at the terminal and play with the sliders and see if the terminal disappears.Ron
