A fix for 5-minute AI timeout limit for FSX SP2 (finally)

The characters don't appear to be the same in HEX Editor, Paul. Can you tell me what you changed, or did you just transfer the same file across from FSX?

just follow nangua's advice in this thread and it works in P3D.

FSX SE has two instances of the HEX sequence in question and I have not been able to get this to work in FSX-SE so far.

OK, I will have another look. I may have assumed that the P3D version would be like the FSX Acceleration version, but it's possible that it may actually be more like the standard version.

There is no "C0 72 40" anywhere in the P3D aiplayer.dll. How did you manage to get it working?

EDIT: Ah, I forgot that I was supposed to be searching for hex values! I found it on line "45720", so I will test this to see if it works.

Any findings for FSX-SE please?

Thanks,

Dirk.

Here is an updated/quick version.  The following is for P3D...see below for FSX and FSX-SE.

You need a HEX editor.

Make a backup of your AI_player.dll that you find in your root P3D folder. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Open the HEX editor, and open the AI_player.dll

Use the find function, make sure you have "HEX" selected for the search, and look for the sequence "C0 72 40"

There should be two of the same sequence. You want the FIRST sequence. Leave the 2nd sequence alone!!!

In the first sequence, change the "72" to "8f"

Save your new AI_player.dll

It should work. I have it working in mine.

*** If I recall correctly:
FSX only has one sequence and works with the above edit
FSX-SE is the same as P3D with two sequences...only the first should be altered.

I have neither FSX versions installed...anyone who tries it out with FSX-SE, let us know if it works.  I recall doing this last year with sucess, but have since moved on from FSX.

Altered AI_player files can not be distributed.  You'll have to do the work yourself.

I take no responsibility for your modifications. Make Backups!!! ***

Hi. I am a user of the latest version of Prepar3D and I checked with the Hexeditor , the C0 72 40 sequence does not exist in the aiplayer.dll . ( Maybe I did not look for well- known ) . Could you advise me on this? I appreciate the help and I'm also interested in being able to alter the minutes of waiting aircraft simulator . Thank you very much in advance.

It's there on line 4dbb0.

When you search "C0 72 40", make sure you have HEX selected in the search box (not Octal or ASCII).
