March 2, 201214 yr Yes, FLIGHT is good. But, already I am bored with the Big Island. Damn it, I am going to have to purchase the DLC for the rest of Hawaii and I did not want to. Just more of the same.I think that this version has huge potential. MS is going to drip feed us all kinds of goodies in the months and years to come. However, I suspect that it will cost us dearly. MS have thought this through and have come to the conculsion that DLC is the way to go. Soon it will be time to hold off and resist buying every new shiny airplane and scenery on offer.Just my thoughts.
March 2, 201214 yr Hi Trevor! Glad you're liking it, as I am. I bought the "Island pack" to show support for the product - I figured $20 is a worthwhile investment to show my support and appreciation. I also feel that by casting my economic vote for good packages MAY help steer Microsoft to producing more in that line...Can't say as I'm bored yet - I love flying low and slow. My "primary aircraft" has been the Icon for puttering around, exploring the Islands and getting a feel for the capabilities of Flight.
March 2, 201214 yr Author Hi newthogWish I new your name but, yes, I am with you. We need to support MS with this new approach to FS because it has so much potential I just hope that MS will realise what a money spinner they have created provided that they price the DLC at an affordable and acceptable level going forward.
March 2, 201214 yr It's Mike - my gamertag is DeBriefBarbie, if you're on Live, would enjoy "flying" with you!

March 2, 201214 yr I too love the DLC model and cannot wait for there to be over $1,000 worth of choices to make :) - kinda reminds me of FSX
March 2, 201214 yr Microsoft loves DLC and that's what Flight will be: a free download to hook you and then hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars of dlc. I also own Train Simulator 2012 and that sim has over $1000 in dlc in less than a year.Good! If they offer that many options, I'm sure they'll be at least a few that cater to me!
March 2, 201214 yr HelloThey need to be very quick to get some more DLC into the marketplace, no later than next week would be a good idea.Josua talks about "months" in his recent interview, most of the target market will have moved on to the latest game release by then.they need a steady dripfeed of new cheaply priced DLC to keep up the interest. That is what sustained FS9 and FSX over the years, as soon as you got tired of your latest addon there were another two must haves to buy.Even Flight unlimited which was in many ways more advanced than MS Flight! considering its age got old after a while because of the limited terrain and selection of aircraft.
March 2, 201214 yr I'm really digging the game too. I can see it replacing FSX when I just want to do some GA VFR flying. Of course FSX will still be my main sim for cross-country jet trips. :good:

March 2, 201214 yr I agree that its good as far as graphics rendering nicely and smoothly on my wonderslug single-core computer and its looking a bit more detailed than the default FSX did (speaking of free content only), but I really wish they would have included a default world even if it was just bare terrain with some runways like my X-plane 9 default scenery. I for one simply can't afford to be buying add-on after add-on. To me this is like they have cornered the market on FS fans and are forcing us to pay to play. Its actually like an arcade game in that way too. Edited March 2, 201214 yr by flightluuvr
