March 4, 201214 yr Has anyone figured out the ideal setting for takeoff trim, and how to visually set this (I can't see any position markers on the trim indicator, and thus I never seem to set the trim correctly for takeoff)? Thanks,James
March 4, 201214 yr I set the Trim Tab to N for Neutral, and one notch of flaps for take-off. Edited March 4, 201214 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
March 5, 201214 yr I've designed the FDE so that neutral trim is correct with the default loadout and zero flaps. That way she rotates easily on take off and settles close to the optimum climb out speed without the need to re-trim.Changing the loadout requires a change of take off trim of course.
March 5, 201214 yr i set mine to the v of "ELEV"... i am usually around MTOW or within a few hundred pounds at least....This setting does require a re-trim, though not major, as I accel to about 140-150knts climb.
