March 6, 201214 yr I haven't actually seen any lightning... I have seen what I thought were lightning "flashes" reflecting off the dash!?! Edited March 6, 201214 yr by Murray_CHYZ
March 6, 201214 yr Still waiting to see some of the more "illuminating" effects. Are there any actual storms in-game or was it just supposed to be hinted at through the clouds? Would be nice for the ambiance if the game did have actual lighting. I imagine it would make for some big challenges :)
March 6, 201214 yr Found this yesterday.at planesimulation.com. Haven't tried it yet; seems only for FS2004.http://216.58.112.44/ident/z27222.asp
March 6, 201214 yr I've flown in Isolated Thunderstorm weather a lot because it can be quite varied and unpredictable. I've seen rain and some severe gusting winds, but no lightning.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 6, 201214 yr Like Murray, I have seen flashes on the panel that I assume are meant as lightning, although I have never seen any of the actual stuff. This is definitely one of the issues and hopefully will make its way to an update.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
March 6, 201214 yr I am thinking clouds and weather are a work in progress. Just my opinion, but the current clouds look a generation or more behind everything else. To me, they are placeholders, and the lack of lightning (I was wondering if it was just me) kind of bears that out.Slick runway water effects are also on hold. March 6, 201214 yr Author rats, I was hoping someone had seen a thunderstorm with lightning bolts etc.... oh well.. Peter James / Former Lead Designer Flight Unlimited III / ATP Beechjet 400A Captain 7000+ hours total flying time / Sager NP9280 notebook / i7 950 3.07 / 6 Gig / GTX280M 1280x1200x32
March 6, 201214 yr Well, for a thunderstorm to truly look like one, you'll need cloud shadows blocking out the sunlight. RoF is one of the only flght sims I know that offers cloud shadows, and even then, they're only noticeable on partly sunny scenarios and not on ones with driving rain...
