March 30, 201214 yr Please note that B4469 is now available. For details see http://support.hifitechinc.comChanges in this build include:- New option: Local Station Writes with DWC – This option, when used in DWC mode, writes to local stations as well as the “global” environment – This creates variation and smoothing but can result in “clear cloud” coverage areas despite the data/conditions Is this new feature explained in detail at the support center? What does clear cloud mean? Is selecting this more or less realistic? Eric
March 31, 201214 yr Commercial Member Is this new feature explained in detail at the support center? What does clear cloud mean? Is selecting this more or less realistic? There is a brief explanation in documentation. Essentially, with the combined global/local station writes in DWC mode, there could be cases where the area around the aircraft would be in an area with few/no clouds (clear cloud area) even if the conditions all around suggest clouds (i.e. BKN/OVC). This is due to FSX depiction issues (i.e. we are not setting clear conditions, but FSX decides to depict it this way). We adjusted depiction in the earlier SP1 beta to eliminate local station writes and prevent this problem, but several users requested that this be provided back as an option, so we implemented it accordingly. As for realism, that's subjective. If you demand accuracy to reported conditions at all times this option should be left off. If you'd rather sacrifice a little bit of accuracy in some situations (potential clearer clouds than reported sometimes while enroute) for the benefit of increased smoothness and less hard cloud transitions, as well as increased variation, this option should be on. It's worth experimenting. I prefer the option on myself, and I am a realism fanatic. With the option on this behaves essentially how DWC has in all our previous versions (ASX, ASA, ASE). March 31, 201214 yr I haven't installed the beta but I'm wondering if the issue with the textures not loading after creating/loading a flight plan is fixed in this version? The workaround was to wait approx 10 seconds after processing the flight plan before loading textures.ThanksBrent Brent Beale

So for me there has been no change.Michael Cubine Michael Cubine
April 2, 201214 yr Thanks MichaelThat's a pity - it would have been nice to have this small but annoying issue addressed in the first service pack. Brent Beale
