Changes in website format upon refreshing?

Featured Replies

This one is a little odd, and one I have not seen before.Kind of hard to describe - I typically will leave my IE9 window with Avsim open while I am at the computer. To check for new content, I will often just hit the refresh on IE. Just yesterday, it started basically reformatting how it was displayed, ie the text showing the forum topics, will move to the center of the sreen and appears to get a little smaller. Upon refreshing again, maybe first attempt, maybe second or third, it goes back to it's original format, with the text of the threads aligned to the left of the screen. This also happens if I am reading a thread, and click the " back to forum" button there near the bottom right. It jiust keeps changing off and on, and Avsim appears to be the only website it is doing this at for me.Again, just started happening yesterday, curious if anyone else is seeing this, or has any thoughts on why? Thanks,

Don B

I have just started noticing this on my system (Win7 64 bit using IE9). When I first connect to the FS2004 forum, sometimes the topic headings are all centre justified on the screen. If I refresh the screen, sometimes the display corrects to left-justified, but not always.Seems like something has changes in the past 48 hours?

Whew, I am glad you posted, I was beginning to think I was the only one so it must have been something I did on my end.But I have visited several other sites in the same manner and done the same thing, refreshing routinely, and so far this is the only site it is happening to me on.Still readable and all, but rather annoying when it centers like that. And mine just keeps going back and forth with no ryhme or reason . It may stay left justified for two or three refreshes, then it will change and may stay center justified for two, three, sometimes even more refreshes...I too am running Windows 7 64 bit with IE9.Thanks for the feedback, glad to see it is not just me.

It's weird and random and I don't like it. :(If I could figure out how to attach an image I would upload a screenshot.

Yeah, weird and random for sure. Perhaps somoene from the Avsim staff will see this and find out if something perhaps might have change on their end...

-bump-Same here. Centered, then left aligned. At first it were only the forum titles but now it also happens to the post titles within a subforum.

FWIW, I've been noticing this as well - Win7x64 & both IE9 and FF.

Thanks for the feedback guys, so apparently something has happened for this issue to have started... I suspect many others see it and either don't worry about it, or not visit this particular forum and see this thread.

Same issue for me. IE 9 and Win7 64. Sometimes the forums are centered and sometimes they are left centered. Refreshing doesn't seem to fix it. Doesn't happen all the time.Wasn't there a survey about this issue here a few days ago?

I'm not sure what to say to this one. I just tried it on this end, running Win7 Pro 32-bit. I switched over to MSIE9, which on here is BASE install, not trying to "hack" or run ANY sort of blocker. I hit refresh 6 times as not-signed in, and 6 times after signing in, and I am not able to reproduce this issue. It loads correctly for me every time.I know we sound like a broken record, but we've also checked with IPS support, and they see no issue, so clear your cache, ALLOW avsim.com and avsim.net to your popup blockers and ad-busters, etc. All they are going to do is screw with the formatting of the site. IPS is written to be cross-browser friendly. That being said 99.9999% of the time I use Chrome, as it's ALWAYS been the quicker browser for me and I've never had an issue with it. The issues arise whenever I try to "mess" with something. Out of the box it works fine for me, and in this case MSIE9 does as well.

Thanks for the feedback John,As seen in the thumbnail thread by Word Not Allowed, Tom stated earlier this morning the issue has been resolved, and for me it certainly is - much better! That said however, you have raised my curiousity about Chrome, I may have to check it out. Thanks again,

Don B
