SP1C - Ouch! (Graphics problem)

Featured Replies

I've installed SP1C (twice!) and it's taken out half of the cockpit graphics on the virtual cockpit - on all the planes (6700 as well as 8900).Looking towards the front is completely black, although I can look out of the side windows OK. Also, everything around the dials/instrument displays is also plain black.(No, I'm not flying at night!)Has anyone else experienced this and/or is there a fix? If not, is it possible to go back to SP1B where everything was fine? Thanks for any help!Toni.

I also have this same problem. I have to do a computer restart each time I want to fly the NGX. If I don't I get combination black/transparent panel in vc and no switch levers. I can only load the aircraft sucessfully maybe once every 7-8 times. This issue has only occurred since the update. Thank you for your help. UPDATE: I have determined that this only happens at one addon airport for me. KDFW. I also have KORD, KSFO, KJFK, KLAX, KLAS and KFLL. This doesn't happen at those. But again, NONE of this happened prior to the update.

Have both of you done a full NGX uninstall and re-install, not just SP1c? Make sure you delete your base folders after you've backed up your AC ini files..There is nothing wrong with SP1c. On the contrary...it fixes a load of stuff!bestjake

Not new to this. Own the J4100, 747-4 & 8, ATR, LDS 767, A2A Strato. Did an uninstall/reinstall prior to install of SP1c. Reboot after reinstall. Have done it once again to try and resolve the issue. No joy. And frankly, just because it works for one person doesn't mean it will work for everyone. I'm sure I probably have a completely different setup and addons than you do. Thanks for the suggestion but uninstall/reinstall is S.O.P.

One difference between SP1b and SP1c is that Visual C++ 2010 is now required. Did you run the NGX installer as administrator and allow it to do a complete install? After you installed it and loaded up the plane did you say yes to all the FSX prompts?

Paul Deemer

Yes. Ran as admin and yes to all prompts.

Zero reports of this at support - have to assume something else is going on here guys. There's nothing that was done in SP1c that can cause your view to be all black.

Perhaps running the standalone installer for that airport will help. I'll let you know. On another note, the spoilers will function from 0 to full while on the ground but once in the air they will only go to arm. If pushed further, for descent, they will initially try to move into position but both the handle and speed brakes will drop back to the arm position on their own. Can't keep them in place. Using registered FSUIPC and have reconfigured numerous times but still can't raise the spoilers. Any ideas in this one?

No known issues with the spoilers either - you've probably got a control binding interfering somehow. I just used them last night in a descent, they were fine.

RyanI've tried reinstalling the updates, running as Administrator, etc. Nothing has made any difference. Is it possible to revert to SP1B or will that cause more damage? (Everything was fine with the previous version....)ThanksToni.

Have you ran the Performance Manager in your "PMDG Simulations> PMDG 737NGX" folder? I would toggle low and then high resolution cockpits and see if that fixes it.In the mean time, surely you've considered uploading a screenshot....

I see!
  • Within FSX, press the "Print Screen" Key (to the left of the "Scroll Lock" and "Pause") with the problem in view. Now close FSX.
  • Open MS Paint. Edit --> Paste. File --> Save. Save the image somewhere you can find it easily.
  • Next, go to http://photobucket.com/. Create a user profile, which shouldn't take 1 minute.
  • Once Photobucket is set up, click the the green "Upload" button from your photobukcet home page. Select the image you saved earlier and upload it.
  • Now, go to you Albums page and copy the "IMG Code" line into a post here. The line will look like this without the "* *": [iM**G]http://i184.photobuc...3-56-29-562.jpg[/iM**G]

The good thing about setting up the Photobucket account is that you'll be able to use it later with issues or screenshots you want to share. All said and done, it should take you 5 minutes to accomplish the above.
