March 12, 201214 yr The files section on this site has 130 missions. I see no way to sort by popularity. Can sort by download but many have high download rate because they are simply older. What are some quality, interesting, voice over done missions for FSX? Prefer adventure type missions as oppose to airliner flights.Or can anyone suggest some 3rd party payware that has great FSX missions? Thanks.
March 12, 201214 yr Get African Airstrip Adventures from Aerosoft. Definitely worth the money. It includes scenery in Kenya and a kind of bush pilot career mode using the FSX mission engine. Also, Aerosoft sells other mission packs but I don't have any of them. There are one or two trial missions that can be downloaded free of charge.Regarding freeware missions:The FScene Beagle missions are absolutely awesome (link)I also enjoyed the Guggenheim Robbery mission very much. It's in the Avsim file library. Also the stuff created by Gera is very enjoyable and funny, although these are not real missions. More some sceneries and a story around it but you have to use FSX free flight. (Try the glowing temple flight in a Twin Otter. It's the sickest runway I've ever landed on and it took me about 30 times to get it right) Regards, Tom
March 12, 201214 yr Author Have you tried the default FSX missions? They are absolutely awesome! :(Yes, I'm going through them now. I know I'll run out soon and am planning ahead.Do the Aerosoft missions have voice overs and such like the FSX ones?
March 12, 201214 yr There is a really good Aerosoft addon of missions for the Twin Otter. High quality 'simulated' ATC and lots of other audio. Abut 10 euros I think. I bought it years ago but remember it was cheapish and really great! March 12, 201214 yr I got a lot of mileage out of Air Hauler...Although effectively the missions are all courier jobs, the management of those jobs, your fleet, your finances, reputation and all the other add-ons really helped bring a new focus to my flying and meant I saw a lot more of that ORBX scenery than I might have done otherwise!Trying FSpassengers now as well, which also seems decent. Cheers! Iain

Doesn't state if it has voice overs however.
March 13, 201214 yr Do the Aerosoft missions have voice overs and such like the FSX ones?I can't speak for Flight Tales as I don't have it, but the demos have voice overs (link)Regarding African Airstrip Adventures (AAA): They have voice overs although with a slight German accent. If I remember correctly, Thorsten, the guy who made it, was also involved with the creation of the default FSX missions (interview with him on FSBreak). But AAA is not a mission pack in the traditional sense. You are presented with one mission in the FSX missions list, and then you get offered different jobs over time. It's basically a mission that never ends. You can fly up to four different airplanes (you choose which ones among your installed addons, see here ), but you must fly to the airstrips where you parked them in order to switch. You also have to take care of maintenance/refueling for your planes, manage the order in which you do the jobs and pick the right plane for the job. You also have to manage time because you may not be able to land on most airstrips when it's getting dark.In other words: It's a very unique addon. It has been on my shopping list ever since that interview on FSBreak but I only managed to buy it recently. I only regret that I didn't buy it earlier. Regards, Tom
March 16, 201214 yr Author Well the Flight Tales 1 demo was rather short and was only ATC chatter. Was hoping there would be a creative narrative voice like many of the FSX missions have. Also, what the heck at the end of the demo??!!!! Start watching at the 5:50 mark or so.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xS-fy1w8CmY
March 16, 201214 yr I think the other Flight Tales demo has a real story (called Silent Science, I believe). If I remember correctly, there were several missions where you play the same plot from different actors in the story. But it was insanely hard, I never completed the last mission. Regards, Tom

March 16, 201214 yr I think those Silent Science missions are not included in Flight Tales, at least I don't see them in the list. So that second demo is rather a freebie for everyone who owns Accel. The Accel pack is required for that demo because you need the EH101 and the sling load capabilities. I guess the the full version doesn't feature any missions with the EH101. Regards, Tom

March 16, 201214 yr Author There are a bunch of demos from Just Flight too.Rescue Pilot seems nicely diverse and interesting. Not sure if it has audio narrative though? Have to try the demo I guess.http://justflight.com/demos.asp
March 16, 201214 yr Rescue Pilot seems nicely diverse and interesting. Not sure if it has audio narrative though? Have to try the demo I guess.I used Rescue Pilot many many moons ago, but thoroughly enjoyed the missions. The two that stand out to me are the one when you have to rescue a guy in the middle of a frozen lake (he fell through), and one where you must respond to a traffic accident and get the patient back to the hospital as quick as you can.AAA is still my favorite "mission pack" though, as it adds so much depth to the simulator.Airhauler and FSPassengers are also great, but are entering the $50 range in cost. Airhauler lets you manage a fleet of planes and pilots hauling cargo anywhere in the world. You must set up bases, maintain your planes, pay your pilots and fuel costs, etc. The price of fuel can even be linked to the real world cost.FSPassengers is more of a pilot simulation where you must purchase and maintain your aircraft, but it's less complex than Airhauler where you don't have to setup bases and accept jobs. However, it will provide or deduct points based on your flying skills, and goes as far as simulating engine failures to get you to have to abort takeoff and go to get maintenance before trying again. One more thing I can think of that makes it fun is you can start as a private pilot and have to work your way up through the ranks to earn your right to fly the larger planes and make more money, to therefore by faster and larger aircraft. Both Airhauler and FSPassengers are great fun, albeit a bit different, and can use any addon scenery and aircraft.
