What about running the sfc /scannow tool - did you do that one?

I just disabled both files, Roy, rebooted the pc - and then ran fsx without an issue.... it makes no difference to the C172 gauges whatsoever, so I don't know where that gentleman got his information from - it certainly is not cause of the problem which you're having.I wish one of the devs would step in here, and provide a little help. :(

Hi,sorry the link didn't work. Thought just copy and paste would be enough.Link went to fsx trusted DLL modules issues started by Mr LefterisHere is what it says:Captains-I had blogged about this as I had come across the problem back in June while the 747-400X was in beta testing... I am reposting it here as it might help a couple of you who are facing issues with FSX not asking to trust our PMDG DLLs regardless of what you do.I also added it to our Wiki library under "FSX Trust DLL Policy" in case you feel like looking it up there...(Thanks to Steve Patrick at Spat's Weblog for this)A few users are reporting that Flight Simulator X will not ask them to trust the PMDG DLLs (and will subsequently crash when loading the PMDG 747-400X). This will happen even if they remove the PMDG entries from the [Trusted] section of fsx.cfg.Turns out there's a registry setting that Windows uses for third party DLL trust policy selection.Check if theHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionWinTrustTrust ProvidersSoftware Publishingregistry key is set to 0x63c00. This value represents Microsoft Windows' WinTrust policy selection flags. The 0x40000 flag means "Allow only items in personal trust database" and apparently, this clashes with FSX's ability to allow manual authorization of unrecognized DLLs, telling it instead to never trust anything outside the user's personal trust.Change this flag back to its default 0x23c00 value to return all operations to normal. Flight Simulator X will once again be able to ask the user to designate the PMDG DLL modules as 'Trusted' software. the original post was: fsx vc gauges problem started by thomas_kenobi on 10-12-2010.John

Thanks for jumping into this, John. I hope this is the fix, as I had no clue where else to go with it.Roy - just type 'regedit' (no quotes) into the 'Start' --> 'Search' window, and then look for this key when regedit opens:-HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionWinTrustTrust ProvidersSoftware Publishing. The State "Data" field should only contain '0x00023c00'. If it's anything else - dbl-clk on "Data" and change the value to '23c00' (no quotes). It will automatically put in the extra zeroes. You may (or probably will) need to reboot. Try fsx first. Good luck. Thanks again John.

Just tried the 0x63c00 in the State data field, but it didn't change anything in FSX that indicated loss of gauge textures... - but then - I have no PMDG aircraft either, so....

yes. i did.
The compiled FSX gauges (those that are .dll's, not XML cab files) are all dependent on msvcr80.dll. If that file is missing or broken, the gauges won't load.Try re-installing the MSVC runtime libraries.Doug
Doug, do you mean he must install visual studio v2005 or visual c++ v2005 redisttributable?(a veeerrrryyyy little light begin to burn somewhere in the back of my head)john

Changed the registerkey back, still have my instruments and also activation. so, if i have flied a plane that has the error (i think) than it will be fixed now.. strange but it seems to work ;)

Well it's nice to hear good news! Much better than a reinstall of the OS! I'm glad it's fixed, Roy - but the thanks should go to Doug and John - they're the smart guys not me. :( :(

Hello,After a time of 1 year that i havn't played Flight Simulator X Deluxe i tough: let's play it again. So in installed it on my Acer Aspire 5560G laptopSpecs:- windows 7- 64 bit- 8gb ram- quad core amd a6 of 2,30ghz- AMD Radeon HD 6720G2 (1GB VRAM)- FSX on c partition (enough space)But on some planes, like the Cessna i don't have the instruments like the alt-meter. The only thing i see is a big hole and the sky. And almost all the standard planes have a ''black'' radio screen. Can somebody tell me what the problem is?
Do all of the gauges appear in the 2d panel OK?
