is the 787 for X-Plane any good?

Featured Replies

one of my buying decisions to get XP10 now is whether the 787 by Heinz is good... worth the $$, far better than the default 747 and if any if it affects performance.... either that or the Challenger 300 I see available to buy as well...any help would be greatly appreciated !

Hi,Depends on what you by mean any good.I have never flown an aircraft in my life, so can’t comment on real world flying. But what I have done as a hobby is use flight simulators from MS version 4 on DOS 6.1 up to and includingFSX on Vista and now X Plane 9.7 and version 10 as my preferred choice on my Macbook Pro Laptops.I only fly heavy jets and this add on works very well on both versions of X Plane on my Macs, with no performance issues. The default 747 on X Plane 10, I find very buggy, the autopilot is all over the place, can’t hold altitude or airspeed with any confidence.Hope this will improve in time with updates.

I had my eye on the Chalenger, but im having so much fun with the CRJ, I didnt see a reason to get it just yet.Rob

If it's by Heinz, it can't be all bad.Heinz has a fairly good, I'd say an excellent reputation as an A/C developer.FWIW
