  1. Hi all, i have been a flight simulator fan going back to the days of DOS 6.1 and building my own custom Pc's (always on cost budget). Over the last few years I have used Laptops (no clutter etc) and using Macs for the last 6 years. The current range of Macbooks I believe are not suitable gaming and my other uses (no CD Drive) The laptop I am considering: MSI Apache Pro - GE62 2QF 15.6 Intel core i7 - 5700HQ Memory 16GB Graphics Nvidia GTX 970M Storage 1 TB and 128 GB SSD Nick
  2. Hi all, i have been using XP 10.25 on Macbook Pro laptops (both are around 6 years old), i now intend to upgrade to a windows 10 gaming laptop. Can I just transfer the files from the Macbook Pro, so that can start from a known point before installing latest updates Thanks Nick
  3. hi Bruce just copy the Uban Maxx folder into custom scenery. i own to Macbook pro laptops both running XP 10.25 Nick
  4. Hi I am sorry but you are waisting your time trying to fly without a joystick. I have been using XP 9.7 and XP 10.23 with my Macbook Pro Laptops for the past 3 years with great results. Using Saitek Aviator Joystick. Nick
  5. Hi Ctrl+t only works for XP 9.7 For XP 10 select from menus Location/Local Maps at bottom left of map select from: 0 - speed track 2 - speed track 4 - speed track or 6 - speed track Nick
  6. Hi Couple of points I have noticed when running Xplane 10.21 (32 bit mode) on my 17 inch Macbook Pro Laptop. Mac OSx 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) No longer have to insert disc 1 into CD drive, everything seems to work fine with no warning message When using 777 World Liner I get a very loud ticking noise from my Mac (sounds very alarming) when going into simulation menus, map view for example. I have installed the latest updates but this makes no difference. as a work round I just hit the pause button. I think this may have something to do with the 777 plug ins, as I don’t have this problem with other aircraft, but can’t say for sure as not a programmer. Also my Mac OSX is nearly 3 years old now so this could be relevant. Nick
  7. Hi,Depends on what you by mean any good.I have never flown an aircraft in my life, so can’t comment on real world flying. But what I have done as a hobby is use flight simulators from MS version 4 on DOS 6.1 up to and includingFSX on Vista and now X Plane 9.7 and version 10 as my preferred choice on my Macbook Pro Laptops.I only fly heavy jets and this add on works very well on both versions of X Plane on my Macs, with no performance issues. The default 747 on X Plane 10, I find very buggy, the autopilot is all over the place, can’t hold altitude or airspeed with any confidence.Hope this will improve in time with updates.
  8. HiGood advice for Windows users of X Plane, but I have discovered the benefits of running X Plane 9.7 and now the new version 10.03 (Beta 5) on my Macbook Pro Laptop.Loading times are not a problem for me.Nick17 Inch Macbook Pro Laptop (Dec 2010)Mac Os X 10.6.82.8 Ghz Intel Core i74 Gb MemoryNvidia Geforce GT 330M 512 MbApple Wireless Keyboard and Mouse.Saitek AV8R Joystick.Griffin Elevator Laptop Stand.
