March 15, 201214 yr Damien posted this little bit. This is not true, for an unpressurised takeoff the apu must be running. (fs2crew also models these types of takeoffs)I cant find in the manual how you would notify the FO that a Bleed Off Departure is selected.Any pointers?regardsTrev
March 15, 201214 yr Hi Trev,If you take a look at the "Briefing Panel Overview" in the online manual you find that when setting up the departure brief, the Bleed Off take off can be set there. If your like me and find the Departure Brief a little too long and sometimes boring to listen too on every flight, you could try manually setting the Bleeds to off or use the speech command "SELECT ENGINE BLEEDS OFF" just before the RWY Entry Procedure maybe ? -- not sure about this though...Damien or Bryan may confirm when time permits. March 15, 201214 yr Author Thanks for clearing this up guys. Much appreciated. One thing for the future : what is the likelyhood of being able to announce these things to the copilot instead of entering them into the briefing panel?Would the copilot be able to recognise these standard requests and set up accordingly?Briefing panels are such immersion killers. :Idea:I hope you guys do so well on this version that you keep finding things to add. So well done already and looking forward to the SP.

March 26, 201214 yr Is there a difference between Bleeds Off Take Off and Packs Off take off ?At real work, in the Boeing OPT, we sometimes use A/C OFF for TO Performance calculation on short runways (the other option is A/C auto). I would like to know if A/C OFF corresponds to Bleeds Off Take Off or packs off take off ? Location : FMEE

I would like to know if A/C OFF corresponds to Bleeds Off Take Off or packs off take off ?In the 737 there's no such thing as a packs off takeoff, the 777, 747 etc do though. A/C off actually refers to both, just different procedures for different aircraft type. Damien WeekesCaptain 737NG / A319/20/21
