March 16, 201214 yr Hi,Can anyone elaborate on how to do Touch and Go training at LOWI the proper way?Is it done IRL?Best Regards,Bert Van Bulck
March 17, 201214 yr No doubt, touch and go ops are not allowed there in real life in a 73'. It's a VERY noise sensitive area. I just took a look at the airport briefing pages in Jepp, and you can tell they're really picky. I imagine that with the narrowness of the Inn valley, aircraft noise would really get to the locals. March 17, 201214 yr TnG training is usually done by airlines in airports that are either out in the country, next to a small town, not very busy and generally cheap and not too much noise sensitive. I hear that LKPD and LKVO are sometimes used, couple miles up in Czech Republic. --Peter Fabian
March 17, 201214 yr You'll probably be better off asking "How do you perform a missed approach?". I would like to read about how it's done also. Chuck Biggins
March 17, 201214 yr Go-around in a nutshell:(this expects a go around after fully configured, and in for manual landing)-TOGA thrust. Autopilots bounces off, if turned on.-Apply backward pressure on the yoke (pull)-Command Flaps 15-Observe positive rate, command gear up.-Confirm GA altitude limit set, follow vertical FD guidance-Confirm LNAV active, if yes, you can continue to use FD lateral guidance, alternatively activate LNAV, or follow lateral guidance from memory (most MApp procedures are construed as "Continue runway heading, climb XXXXft, when passing YYYY turn L/R to fix/hdg)-clean up per flap schedule, level off, enter holding, decide what next. The go-around is automatically flown if set up for an autoland. Monitor performance of autopilot, if necessary, modify properties or disconnect the AP and handfly. Other steps apply (flaps, gear, MCP alt...) --Peter Fabian
