  1. It is the same one. I downloaded it when the site pointed too earlier was active and reposted it on the Aerosoft site when the DA link went dead..
  2. flyfed replied to davjg's topic in PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu
    A simple search shows this.
  3. Is your FSX is in the default Vista or Win7 folder? If so, this sounds like a UAC issue. The common work-around is to ensure you have your shortcut set to "Run as administrator."
  4. Living in Seattle, we hear a lot of individual and fleet sales orders about Boeing aircraft. The usual disclaimer is something like, "At list price, the order is worth $XXX, but airlines typically receive substantial discounts from list prices." So, like a car, prices can vary widely. Unless a good web search turns up a price list, you're guessing. BTW, having operated a small fleet of GA aircraft IRL, it's not just the parts. There's also labor and other items that go into maintenance costs, including odd things like shelving costs, ad nauseum. Not at all what I look back on as a pleasant kind of hobby. Seems to me you could have just as much fun for your VA just making up numbers.
  5. Your best bet is to inquire directly to PMDG. Only someone authorized to speak for them can advise you on your question. It's their software, so it's their rules. From the EULA: "1. GRANT OF NON-EXCLUSIVE, LIMITED LICENSE The Software and related documentation is licensed, not sold. Any rights not clearly and expressly granted to you under this EULA are reserved to PMDG..."
  6. My experience with the same thing convinced me to not have two controllers fighting for the same axis.
  7. When you have that one figured out, try the window exits in a Gulfsteam. Best argument there is for corporate types to lose weight.
  8. If you're trying to use your computer keyboard to make entries into the FMS, you may not be doing it correctly. The usual way is to use the mouse to click on the keys on the FMS keyboard. If you want to use the computer keyboard, you must first hold down the tab key. See the note starting at the bottom of page 0.00.9 in Tutorial 1.
  9. That's what the QRH (Quick Reference Handbook) is for. The Alpha Index will take you to page 1.4, 1.8, 1.13 or 1.14 as appropriate. The QRH tells you what to do for every light that can go off.
  10. Maybe your search technique let you down. I did a search for "animation" on "This forum" and got two hits besides this one on the first page. The one under this one had the same good advice as Nick's.
  11. I too think they're a standard part of FSX. I also thought you could turn them on and off, but the "G-effects" checkbox I was thinking of and the only one I could find is for a "greying-out with high positive g and red-out for high negative g" effect. Personally, I find them annoying, especially wtht the HUD during landing. I makes things look like I'm about to hit my forehead on the glass. Maybe someone else knows which menu.
  12. The significant hit on frame rates caused by raid effects and why it's not ever gonna' be part of the NGX (and answers to why it's on the J41 and not on the NGX) have been debated to death on the forum. If you need the details, do a search and it should turn up. Tabs provided sound technical answers, and as a key PMDG guy, his answers are entirely authoritative.
  13. Here's a link to the one by Captain Sim at http://forum.avsim.net/topic/363098-captainsim-weather-radar-gauge-and-ngx-forum-link/page__hl__radar . Maybe it will work the same with teh Reality SP radar. FYI, there's been several posts pointing out the utter lack of reality for weather radar in FSX for any add-on (as well as the reasons). As long as you realize it's simply eye candy, not realistic and as the link above points out, steals fps, it's all up to you. Fair skies and tailwinds.
  14. Bill, that "om" on the panel described in the original post is most likely the outer marker icon on the PFD (see icon 3 on page 10.11.16 of the FCOM). I'm pretty sure it's not an "outa memory" warning. All, marker beacons operate at 75 MHz and can't be tuned. In an aircraft like the 737 they're always on (if installed, as in the case of the aircraft modeled by PMDG). The only thing you can do is turn the audio off. See area 2 and the switch labeled "MKR" on page 5.10.6 of the FCOM for the push-to-toggle switch location. See this article from Wikipedia for examples of the tones.
  15. Robin, his next sentence says he did a clean install back to his previous version that was working well. He got the performance back but not the quality. I think he's eliminated the 301 problem. Edit: # 5 came in while I was typing. At least this is an active post.
  16. Since there are aftermarket CDU boxes out there, you'd think there should be a way.
  17. Not only standard, but since those marks identify the touchdown zone (TDZ), it's required for US air carrier ops by regulation (14 CFR 91.175 ©(1)) that the rate of descent below the DH/DA or MDA allow for touchdown within the TDZ.
  18. On any ILS approach plate, it's published as "TCH" in the profile view and is indeed around 50 feet.
  19. Also, your e-mail program may block the messages from PMDG. Make sure "@precisionmanuals.com" (without the quotes) isn't blocked.
  20. FCOM Volume 2, page 15.10.6.
  21. The inbound course on the localizer is 222o (on the approach plate) while the runway centerline is 224.0o (from the airport diagram).
  22. Happy to hear you're back in the air again and you shared a solution that worked for you.
  23. Please expand on your question, as it's unclear what you're asking when you write "change the guidance the HUD receives to FMS." When you replace the acronym with the words, perhaps you'll see what I mean. "Is there a way to change the guidance the heads up display receives to flight management system?"
  24. Calibrating your brakes before every session can help too.
