July 26, 201213 yr Hello folks- Is there any way possible to get the price of the options that come on the NG? things like the Carbon Brakes, the HUGS, the difference in price of the Honeywell/Collins. I'm guessing youd have to be a real buyer and go over it with a sales rep from Boeing but if anyone knows, I'd appreciate it. Thinking about simulating a few financial reports for my Virtual Airline. thanks, Nate Nathan Bonyun
July 27, 201213 yr Living in Seattle, we hear a lot of individual and fleet sales orders about Boeing aircraft. The usual disclaimer is something like, "At list price, the order is worth $XXX, but airlines typically receive substantial discounts from list prices." So, like a car, prices can vary widely. Unless a good web search turns up a price list, you're guessing. BTW, having operated a small fleet of GA aircraft IRL, it's not just the parts. There's also labor and other items that go into maintenance costs, including odd things like shelving costs, ad nauseum. Not at all what I look back on as a pleasant kind of hobby. Seems to me you could have just as much fun for your VA just making up numbers. Herman Ross Seattle, USA
July 27, 201213 yr I'm guessing you already know of this list right: http://www.boeing.com/commercial/prices/ ? As mentioned above airlines receive substantial discounts on those prices, so take off 10%, then add on a million or so for your options and you should be done, unless you really want to break everything down in your financial statement. July 27, 201213 yr Author thanks for the insight guys, I think your right Herman, probably will make up some numbers and include other things like you mentioned. I will also check out that website John-Alan. cheers, Nate Nathan Bonyun
July 27, 201213 yr Just to give you a ballpark idea how much options cost. These are pretty old figures, so I guess I am doing no harm to anyone by, but you can get an idea. Before I start random picking, carbon brakes were not yet available when my pricelist was made, and MCP selection is not a user option, but rather a function of line number, all NGs since circa 2003/2004 have the newer Collins MCP. So for a taste of how much you have to pay if you want to pimp your Boeing - remember that you can get a BMW 5 series for about 50.000 dollars. Control Surface Position Indication - Systems Display $ 16,000 Brake Temperature Monitoring System $ 50,800 One of the features many of us take for granted - and some dont understand why they dont work sometime :) FMCS - Quick Reference Handbook - Takeoff Speeds Displayed $ 45,100 Or, one of the more expensive, and, more visible options. Forward Airstairs - Complete Installation $ 420,100 --Peter Fabian
July 28, 201213 yr Author Fabo- thank you for the prices, will keep these in mind when pricing out options. Nathan Bonyun
July 30, 201213 yr happy PMDG includes them in their base package :-) Yeah, recreating that Ryanair run I got my ticket for one euro would get a bit pricy... :) --Peter Fabian
