I don't know the answer but there is at least a cup of coffee or two included in this hour. Add some water or a soda drink and possibly some short chatting on non-flight related issues with the first officer and / or a cabin crew member. A short visit to the toilet also might happen at times.

Correct and PMDG prices are in line with the market of high-end add-ons. Their products are the best you can get. Some years ago we didn't expect that one day we would have this degree of realism available to us. All the work that went in there needs to be paid and what we paid was rewarded by SP1 which was a great bonus we got for free. I wouldn't have the time to become a Beta tester, and certainly not the patience.. Ok, you are stating that PMDG are money-grabbers, but are you also saying that their products are over-estimated by reviewers? . I understand your frustration here as I was disappointed too when I first heard that that neither the 200ER nor the 300ER would be released first. It never stopped me from having fun flying the LR, doing routes and airlines that otherwise I wouldn't have done. The LR is in use with major airlines like Air Canada, Delta, Emirates,..., and is becoming the cargo hauler of choice for many other airliners. I understand you on this point, but still refuse to agree on your insinuation that this was a money-grabbing policy. Without knowing of course I would say their policy was a policy of "how can we do the biggest variety of accurate models in the shortest amount of time possible with the ressources we have, keeping it affordable to the average simmer". They came up with the equal engine models for the LR and 300ER, adding that the LR can be seen as two models in one as there is the pax version and freighter version. And at the end this policy made all these varieties more or less affordable to us. But at the end I don't know their policies and neither do you. I am willing to pay their prices and I haven't regretted any cent spend on their products so far. That's what counts for me.

I agree with Kyle that it is very obvious that PMDG has not a 'money grabbing' policy or business model. No need of PMDG confirming it. With SP1 we almost got a complete redesign of systems of the 77L. Many other add-on providers would have charged for a SP that services much more than just some bugs, but gives us additional functionality and a correction of what PMDG admitted they modelled wrong (FBW). Other developpers wouldn't have even admitted this and just stayed quite about it. We weren't even forced to buy the -300 to get access to the full SP. The only commercial tactic I see is their professionalism that made me and others buy it. In everything that PMDG has done since I discovered them, I just can see that it is a company that loves our hobby and loves to serve it. However it remains a commercial company and needs to make money. But 'money grabbing' just sounds very wrong when related to PMDG and I'm sure that only assuming it in public on this forum must be hurting and painful to at least some members of their team.

Hi, I just finished my first flight on the 300ER. Great airplane, good performance and weather radar working fine. No problems what so ever during a 12h flight until 5 min from touchdown. FSX crashed (not an OOM) and after FSX closed, I saw an error message from ASN, saying it was not able write weather data and asked me to make sure I was a using a registered copy (which I am) and that the program is excluded from all virus detection settings / firewall. So probably the crash was caused by ASN and not the 300ER, but as this is the first time ASN causes a crash on my system, I thought this maybe has something to do with the new functionalities of SP1 using / communicating with ASN. Just wanting to let you know this happened in case other users experience the same. I see this as a single event so far and am not too worried. If it happens again next flight, I will post and investigate more. Ralf

For the non-french speakers, Patrick identified his problem. He didn't run the PMDG installer as administrator and didn't run FSX as administrator either. Doing this solved his problem posted at the beginning of this thread (in English). Thought I'd translate the outcome as it might be useful to others too. Patrick, je me suis permis de traduire la solution de ton problème comme elle pourrait être utile aussi pour les utilisateurs ne parlant pas le Français. Enfin, content que tout c'est arrangé pour toi et bon vols!

All right. Now I get it. So Rex is a must have. I'll get it right away. I used to have it some years ago but abandoned it with ASE2012. But now i'm on ASN.

Sorry, one more question: you use their cloud and wheather textures with the ASN wheather engine or just the ground textures and leave sky and clouds to ASN?

If only to use REX textures, which of their products wouls you recommend? REX4 texture direct HD or REX essential plus with or without overdrive?

So of you get GSX you are not using PMDG's built-in ground operations menu any longer? Or how do both interact? Can you leave e.g. fueling to PMDG and boarding / deboarding to GSX? Can you switch off marshalling as everyone here seems to agree that this function is not realistic?

Summer has started and the sun is shining again! Kyle said earlier this thread is not PMDG related, but this community in general needs lots of hugs and more positivism, that's why this thread is imortant for PMDG (and for Kyle of course unless he starts to feel overhugged when this thread comes to a third page).

How do you toggle between FSX full screen and vpilot as with me it stays behind and I can't bring it up front while flying (unless I switch to windowed mode)? Thx, Ralf

What is this thread about PMDG location? You're not planning a sit in in front of their house until the 767 is released are you?

I think it's quite exciting to get 300 tons up in the air this smoothly and even more exciting to get them back on the ground, on the other side of the world, without having refueled the plane half way.

Looking forward to the releases of SP1 and 300ER, but am very patient as I am still enjoying the 200LR and NGX as they are now. Keep up the good work.

My system isn't top-end and I'd say performance is similar to the NGX. I wouldn't know the FPS I'm getting. As long as the experience is smooth, I couldn't care less about FPS and my experience with the NGX and 77X is very smooth with rather high graphic settings on FSX, even at busy airports during a ASN thunderstorm. Configurating your system settings are very important and I had to do some tweaking on that when the NGX came out. There are many forum topics helping your way around while setting up your system. Once you set up your system in the right way, you're good to go, even with a less powerful PC.
