March 18, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi,I just flew into LOWI and this is what my ND looked like. Needless to say, I'd be dead if that was right ;)Also, it seems strange to me that both FMC's have to be working to get TERR data on any ND. I would have thought one FMC would be enough to generate that data (not sure about the NG, but there are classics that only have a single FMC with two CDUs)ThanksMark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
March 18, 201214 yr Commercial Member Strange. Can't say I've seen it be incorrect yet. I've flown around LOWI and it has been fine.Best regards,Robin.
March 18, 201214 yr Author Commercial Member Andrea, the display was all red regardless of range.Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
March 18, 201214 yr I just flown in that area with the same altitude (9500fts) and other than few yellow/red areas I have not found your all red scenario. I don't have it also at lower altitudes where the red areas start to grow, but there are still yellow and green parts (speaking about 4500fts). I've not tried an approach to lowi, neither the one you are doing in the screenshot, but, I don't have this on my sim. Regards Andrea Daviero
March 18, 201214 yr LOWI terrain displays correctly for me.Red indicates terrain above you. All red is impossible when flying. Must be a bug, it reminds me of the all cyan bug over water. The terrain display should be available with GPS position data alone. Single FMC shouldn't be a problem.
March 18, 201214 yr Commercial Member Mark,We've had a few reports of this but nothing that was actually reproducible so we could debug it. If you figure out a way to reliably reproduce it, let us know. March 18, 201214 yr I had the same issue yesterday approaching PANC after flying in from PHNL. But have not been able to make this a reproducible event. It never happened prior to SP1c.
March 22, 201214 yr Author Commercial Member Ok I think I found a probable cause:I flew SEQU - MHTG. The TERR was on for the entire flight and was working correctly. After landing, I was a bit eager shutting down the engines and the APU wasn't ready yet (doh!)Once I connect the APU gen to both transfer busses, the ND was showing all red...I haven't tried the scenario again, but I'm positive that the EGPWS was working correctly before turning off the engines and I immediately noticed the red afterwards. Can someone please try?Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
