What is it? I can't make sense of it all. Most explanations were so long winded I forgot what I had read halfway through the sentences.

Cliff Note version please. Still not sure how it works, how much it cost, etc. Is there a youtube video or something we can see?

I'm not even sure what is being offered here, or to be honest even if anything actually is being offered, because it is so rambling. It needs to have a simple, 'we are making this thing, which does this' type of statement, preferably in one sentence, instead of what is currently up at that link.I know that there is what is supposedly an 'elevator version', but unless that elevator was going up and back down the Sears Tower three times, that version was too long as well, and even after reading that, it was no clearer to me than the info imparted in the long version if I'm honest. As it stands, the choice of language certainly makes it sounds dramatic and exciting (I was expecting some stirring climactic movie blockbuster music to kick in whilst I was reading it LOL), but I still don't actually know for sure what it is.When it comes to concise explanatory writing, I can do no better than to recommend taking a leaf out of Mark Twain's book on the subject: 'I never write metropolis for seven cents because I can get the same price for city. I never write policeman because I can get the same money for cop' or if you prefer William Shakespeare's take on the matter: 'brevity is the soul of wit' It does sound like something exciting is in the offing, but please make it a bit clearer to us what that thing actually is.Al

Yup I do, as apparently you do too, that it was an attempt at irony by me LOL. It is reassuring to know that at least someone spotted it. :Just Kidding:Al

Hey guys.Whats up on the playground? If you had any negative opinions or questions you should have posted them ON MY FORUM :( .(or at a minimum taken the courtesy of sending me a private message).Zach Waddel: I am seeking CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, as per the rules on my forum. Trollish speech is not tolerated.Your post to my forum was a flagrant violation of those rules, and has been removed as it is not constructively framed. As a CFI, you should have better tact. This is not professional behavior becoming a CFI.I hope you do not treat your students with such disrespect.Got students? No. Want any? (another great MIB II play)AOPA's opinion that "unprofessional behavior" of CFI's is the root cause of the 80% student pilot dropout rate seems "about right" judging by your speech.Chock, as AVSIM Staff I would have expected better, than to see you "feed the trolls" :(

So, with that out of the way. Let's talk here about how to improve things.Chock: I have tried to boil it all down to a single simple sentence, but every time it comes out sounding so harsh and judgmental."All other flight sims suck, because they are too complex for the majority of people who buy them, to succeed in learning how to fly, and give up in under an hour".This is embarrassing for me to write, and so I have used "a whole lotta" words to essentially say the same thing, with evidence, and in a positive light, while not coming off being so smugand self righteous about it. YES IT SOUNDS WIERD Zach. But I'm not launching this effort with the traditional motivations to "GET RICH QUICK". I'm TRYING TO CHANGE THE WORLD.And naturally, everyone who operates with this primary motivation seems, well..... WEIRD, or ABNORMAL, because we are all raised (by experience and observation, not by instruction)to be pirates, to "take everything, give nothing back".I have a daughter who wants to be an Astronaut, and a couple of her friends do as well. I'm doing this for them, and others like them who have a similar dream. To accomplish their goals they have to become a "test pilot". You have to see a path to accomplishment. And sadly, most are defeated with their first step, learning to fly an aircraft. Please forgive me. My "day job" :( requires me to write extensive documentation to meet "life critical" safety requirements as required by FAA aircraft regulations. These regulations are voluminous!, and answered with equal voluminocity, and CLEARLY this has affected my writing. :LMAO:I "state for the record" that I have never written "ad copy" for a 15 second "sound bite tv spot" for a toy from "whammo". http://www.wham-o.com/I am NOT a marketing wunderkind, and I ask the "court" of public opinion for "mercy".Eagerly awaiting your proposed "ad copy" and your CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.
Hey guys.Whats up?If you had any questions you should have posted them ON THE FORUM(or taken the courtesy of sending me a message).ZachLW, I am seeking CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, as per the rules, not trollish behavior.Your post was removed as a result.Chock, as AVSIM Staff I would have expected better than to feed the trollsZachLW, You are entitled to your opinion about weirdness, but let's have an actual discussion about what you think is weird. This is not constructive criticism.Highly educated people do not use the word "weird", when referring to another person's writing, because it identifies a failure on the part of the readerto fully consider the perspective of the writer. I'm 47 and you are 24. You cannot fully appreciate that you have a great many more years of "maturing" ahead of you.
Where do I begin? The word "weird" is used by me, some of my med school friends, a few of my non-college educated family members/friends, my professional pilot friends, my pre-med girlfriend, etc, etc. I'll avoid any smart alec remarks to address that statment, though. I'll just let the fact that some of the highly educated individuals in my life use the word weird on a daily basis. What a weird thing to have to say...I'm not sure where maturity comes into all of this on my side. I thought the articles were strange, weird, erratic, unclear, inaccurate, confusing, long winded, and whatever. They rambled with no clear direction or topic. This is only my opinion, which I feel I can share without your permission or harassment. If Tom, Stephen, or the other Mods in here feel I've crossed a line, I'll let them handle it. But I won't be berated by you. I wasn't giving "constructive criticism" for your "blog", I was commenting about it to my friends here in the forum.
You are a CFI, right ZACHLW? A mature and constructive topic of engagement would have been with regard to the 80% dropout rate the AOPA says caused byCFI's.
This one has me a little confused, but I'll try and read between the lines and construe it the way you intend for me to (perhaps it's the lack of education on my part you mentioned earlier). Because I thought something was weird, it means I exhibit an attitude that --for a CFI-- explains the 80% dropout rate of students. I'm obviously part of that random statistic you pulled from the bowels of AOPA's website because of my "immature behavior" on this forum. That was tiring.I'm trying hard, still, to figure out what service you're providing. You have got to be more clear if you want to pique interests and I can tell you, those threads aren't "dumbed" down enough for us cretins. At one point I thought I was about to learn what it is you're here for, only to be linked to Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress. Finally, the word weird wasn't meant to be an attack on you. I have no interests in arguing with you. If you don't like to see people's opinions, I think you may be perusing the wrong forums. You're obviously brilliant if your resume is in fact true (I wouldn't doubt it). No one's denying that.EDIT: And after spending all of that time responding to you, you have edited the crap out of your post to be less dramatic. :( Don't worry about my students.

So, as I posed in my "admittedly highly edited" post. How would you phrase it?I keep feeling like an arrogant jerk each time I try. Because I do not want to dismiss the hard work, dedication and love that has been put into Microsoft Flight/Flight Simulator and X-Plane,and it's 3rd party add-ons.Living life is an education in itself. You just have not offended enough people yet to learn to be patient and analyse another person's writing to understand their perspective, before dismissing what you do not immediately understand as "weird". Your friends are all highly "book educated" but not quite yet "life educated". Print this exchange to paper, and pull it out again in 22 years from now. Only then will you have the proper "context" to properly interpret its true intent and deeper meaning. The 80% dropout rate is not dug up from deep within the bowels of the AOPA website. This is a very serious concern and is said to be now the "core focus" of AOPA.http://www.pilottrainingreform.org/http://www.jetwhine....is-it-deserves/http://www.flightglo...can-do-now.aspxAnd do please re-interpret what I have written in the spirit of someone wanting to "change the world" which as I stated is seen to be "weird" by a world taught to act like pirates.
