March 21, 201214 yr Hey!I just had the above message displayed on my scratchpad on the NGX. Any idea what to do with it?I always use the realistic alignment time for the IRS and always put in the airport and gate and then use the GPS data for exact position alignment. This is the first time I had this message and I am frankly lost on what to do next. March 21, 201214 yr Enter the GPS position again! I think its to do with entering it before the IRS's have run through their self tests. Greg B
March 21, 201214 yr The 2nd tutorial had a great informative section on this. Its a must read. Jeff Blyth MD11 J41 747 NGX . . awaiting 777 !!!
March 21, 201214 yr This message should appear if the input position is dramatically different from last position IRS/FMC remembers. Could happen if you for example landed, shut down, and then changed your airport via FS menu. --Peter Fabian
March 22, 201214 yr Author Hmm...didn´t do that. I own the NGX since day 1 and never had this message. Oliver Donner
March 22, 201214 yr Author Where in tutorial 2 is the section that explains this? Couldn´t find it. Oliver Donner
March 22, 201214 yr Author Ahm....yeah...That is the normal IRS alignment procedure. There is nothing there that explains the "Verify Position" message in the scratchpad. Oliver Donner
March 22, 201214 yr On page 11.20.5 of FCOMv2 it says "If the latitude/longitude position is not within 4 NM of the origin airport, the CDU scratchpad message VERIFY POSITION is displayed."Hope that helpsOn page 11.20.5 of FCOMv2 it says "If the latitude/longitude position is not within 4 NM of the origin airport, the CDU scratchpad message VERIFY POSITION is displayed." had the message once and it was due to me making a typing error when entering the ICAO code for the airportHope that helpsSorry about repeating myself in my last post: operator error!Am having trouble with this post as my last line was made as a separate post but shows in my first post. This is also made as a separate post so it will be interesting to see where it ends up! Regards Nixon Thomas
